SkULLEDPK3R
Is it me or have Jagex been acting diffrent then usual. With the banning thing it seems like they are going on a spree with it. I am seeing more threads about bans and autos now then ever before. Personally i think that Jagex should edit their scripts to make it easier to ban autoers and\or stop them. Thats just me. So anyway is it me or have Jagex been banning a lot lately (ignore the 5,000 RSC Bans we all know thats what rsc was flooded with.)

What do you think they're trying to do? Editing and creating anti-macro scripts for a game like RuneScape takes time, they can't just snap their fingers and have it happen. oddfaery2
They're not using scripts as much as you seem to suspect (and don't take this as my saying they're not at all). They have been doing a lot of manual hunting in common macro places to see things for themselves. I think I can safely say that Jagex doesn't want to wrongfully ban players (especially p2p) Proud to have gotten 1800 skill total before access to fishing guild Why make a house when you can rob one? kingkong118
Jagex are stepping up and acting harsher on rule breakers now. Personally i think this is great and they should of started banning these people years ago. :)
jackjonson
although you said ignore the 5k rsc ban ill use it anyway, this isnt the first time they had a mass banning, its the 3rd or 4th i remember. jagex just keeps a list i think and when they feel its time bam lots of people go away. and the people complaining about being banned ive read them and dont bother posting on them anymore, ive known of a decent amount of them and know for a fact alot of the tip.it community complaining about bans did bug abuse.... Yes esp. when a) Runescape is written in JAVA. Java is not the most powerful programming language out there to combat autoers. B) It is fairly hard to detect autoers with the autoers mass distributing free or very cheap scripts that can move the mouse like human, and solve most randoms while logging out on others. Im sure Jagex has a good idea who those people are, but unless they have exclusive evidence they cant ban random people fearing that they might ban someone innocent. http://www.soundclick.com/rztheheretic
Nadril
The thing is, is that a lot of autoers also just use an auto program, and do something else whilst checking back everyonce and a while. They have to do nothing, but they can reply if someone is trying to catch 'em. But Java is easy to make autoers for. And especialy, a game like runescape, 90% of the autoer is just a few macros for clicks :/.
SBD_Izzy
well ignoring the dumn ash flaming going on.... You guys ever think of the financial expence this effort is taking. Jagex needs to pay people to write code and manualy view incidents. So as company funds are aimed at cheaters, funds toward game design are weakened. This means ALL future updates will be known to be of a lesser quality because the funds were not available. Funds needed to acquire the best skilled employees and/or give them the time needed to completely polish projects and vet out the best designs. iz
