Nexaduro
Hex, if people find their way here by their own right for the sake of enjoying our games and community, then we have no right to turn them away, but the truth is we neither need nor want advertisement. We are a family here, the tightest of communities, and though I understand your intent of expanding that family you should gather a consensus first on whether we're really ready for new blood. I wouldn't be surprised if attempted additions are met with bias, many of us are quick to judge and if someone does something we see as blatantly disrupting our games (the perpetrator might even be unaware of our foibles, and not understand their mistake) then they might be outright ignored. You have been met with considerable intolerance from your fellow Taverners before (myself included), perhaps because you have a more disparate mindset. Maybe you should introduce the Taverners to the newcomers before you introduce the newcomers to the Tavern, so it isn't seen as an intrusion? Otherwise, frustration and jadedness on both sides might lead to conflict. Hex, I think this is something all of us should work on together, it has good potential both to make new friends and give the current crowd here in the Tavern a chance to revise their opinions of you and their view of your actions. :) EDIT: Also, what's the thread on the RS forum? I might want to participate even if it doesn't make the switch! Iconic
I personally think that you do need advertisements, the tavern used to have six games running simultaneously but over the last couple of months we've been lucky to have two. There have been periods of nothingness for about a week (the back room doesn't count) and if we carry on the way we are going the tavern is eventually going to grind to a halt and fizzle out. Despite Mather and your opinion this you are not the tighest community at all, some of you are friends (no denying) but most of you are just aqquantances, new blood wouldn't harm this at all as a matter of fact more activity and more opinions can only be good. If any of these newcomers aren't perfect tolerate them, and teach them don't harshly rebuff them. Tell them what they are doing wrong and ask them to fix it but under no regards whether they are disrupting games or not are you to have them outright ignored. Also, I'm inviting the people on the runescape forums to start up there own game (hegemony basically) on our forums and am just waiting for the mod to accept. If anyone wishes to slowly ease people into the tavern and have over 350 total XP please login to the runescape forums try and discuss the tavern here. They are just in the stage of trying to create there own website so if we can offer them a better alternative they can join us. If there is a problem lets just let it calm down (these people are experienced at hegemony games btw) but lets not initiate arguments. Edit: there was a problem with the, go on runescape forums and use quickfind code: 55-56-553-61837141 in the jump to thread box at the top. Nexaduro
Hrm, the only ones I'm not particularly familiar with are Sere, who left, Trol, who's MIA, Paul, who I respect regardless, Doom, who is incredibly quiet, and you. Admittedly, that's a fair number for a community like ours though, but I still like them. Sere's like the eccentric uncle, Doom the travelling aunt, Trol and Paul the distant cousins. I like the family analogy, in case you can't tell. Anyways, I just thought that setting this up as a Tavern community activity would be fun. Also, we've had considerable activity with Archi's brilliant foray into IRC games, and Earth is showing that he actually seems that he knows his way around the D'neering genre quite well with the prelude to his interpretation. EDIT: Perhaps a welcome thread would be in order for the "newbies?" 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? archimage_a
I agree with Nex. Though Hex does have a good point, some of us are not the 'best of friends'....But there are circles within circles! The Tavern is the largest circle, and, like any other board, everyone who posts in the Tavern is inside that circle. But within that circle there are smaller circles, ones that bind people together, that stand for friendship, rivalry and tolerence. While we can advertise for people to come into the largest circle, we cannot invite them into the smaller circles...Only with time and effort can they make their entrance...And sometimes those smaller circles are so tight that no matter how long we try we will never penetrate them. The Tavern may be slowing down, but that is not a good reason to overburden the Tavern with a dozen more people...It will only serve to make the circles tighter and less open. Also:Doom is off doing Modly Duties.Dusty is in and out of Hospital.Grim and Nex have other commitments for the time being.Paul's Internet has died. AndRPG and Sere have left(seemingly). So obviously, when over half of the traditional members, all of them Old School Hegemony Fanatics, are missing...is it suprising that we are not as active as we once were...What we need to do is make sure we don't destroy the Tavern while they are away, and make sure, when they come back they are not foreigners in their own homes. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Iconic
We are pretty much modless at the moment. I'm in ever single one of those apart from DF addict (which should be removed because it doesn't relate to the tavern) [Falador tavern]
The_Mather1
Hex, you haven't played much of either Hegemony or -neering, you fail at being mature, but not to sufficient degree to be imature, you're as much of a science geek as Rocco and adding you to nutjob would make it an insult to us other nutjobs. The_Mather1
You tried the games, you never really played them, else we could say Dusty's a dungeoneer just because he had a character in dungeoneering. Ieyfura
Hex, I'm sure Wisp (Doom) will be back, so for the time being we don't need a mod really. We hardly ever break any serious rules and kinda, in our own little way, tend to mod for each other. The admins check up on us here and there, so we will be fine until Wisp gets back. :) EDIT: As for DnD, I played a decent amount before I moved away from my DnD buddies :( I still have a decent collection of miniatures though.
