Quick question about dung

Generally all doors that you do not need to open to find the boss are regarded as bonus. I've never been P2P so I'm not sure about times, but 7 minutes doesn't sound too bad.

How does one determine a bonus door? To me, any door could be the boss door, right?

I guess its a bonus door because its not required if you can't open it. Every door or room should be opened but if its beyond your skills i guess its bonus. At least thats my understanding of it now.

And 2-4 minutes? Did god himself set that time lol. I guess i'll have to get better at gating or at least learn what to gate.

If you get 7 min by not boosting for skill doors, it is still ok, but not too great.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

Well, a few clues:

First, if you have guide mode on, you can just check the map.

Second, if you find the boss, any doors after that are bonus.

Third, if you need to use a skill boost to open a door, it's bonus.

Edit: Fourth, any door you can't open at all is bonus.

I have a suspicion (unproved and unchecked) that guide mode gives heavy (hidden) penalties (not just the -x% that shows up in guide mode). In any case, I would recommend against it since it requires checking the map after opening literally every door (which becomes increasingly tedious if multiple creatures are attacking you as you try to look).

As Quyneax mentioned, bonus doors are found by the method of trial and error-you may inadvertently open bonus doors by accident on the way to the boss, but once you find the boss you know any remaining ones are a bonus.

I'm not sure where 2-4 minutes came from (a hat, with a bunny?), but just last night I did many small floors under four minutes with a 5:5 group.

I avg solo smalls around 3-3:30, meds 8:30-9

in a team you can avg faster

Yes, but you also know a ton about pathing and iirc hold the DGS record for fastest med.. what do you think is a respectable time for someone sub 100 with a fairly decent knowledge of dungeoneering?

Working on max and completionist capes.

Doesn't guide mode sap your xp though?

It does, and it's not worth it for xp since you should aim to open all doors anyway. But for example when you're hunting a certain tier 11 item you can do 5:5 smalls with guide mode on to get to the boss (= drop) faster.

Just meant it as "this is about the best you could possibly average"

I would expect the avg dgs recruit to avg ~15 min meds and 6 min smalls

7 mins is a perfectly respectable small time, especially being 58 dg.

Well after a few days of solo i think i got the trick. Just averaged a few 12 minute meds, when before it would take me around 25 minutes. All it really takes is knowing what to gate and how to approach things. I was also wondering if soloing is doable if you have faster times. I tried world 77.... everything everyone has said is right. I've also tried clan Fc, but those are also a joke as no one is in the mood to help out. Either way i'm still happy i manged to lower my times.
