Hellkingdoom
well Eminem is basically done with rap for a while if not forever after his new album he releashed not long ago in December called Curtain call after Slim Shady great career i would like to ask you all what are your favourite songs from him? song he featured in count too
Bubsa
Well, the last album nearly managed to ruin him, but I think I'll remember Eminem for some of the great songs he did rather than the awful ones in the latter end of his career...just. His darker stuff will always mean more to me, songs like 'Stan', 'Kim' (to an extent) and...well ones where he raps about real things. The 'Lose Yourself's and the 'Cleaning Out My Closet's, not the trash that is "Just lose it" and what have you. It would be naive not to think Eminem revolutionised rap in some way. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
sayan1
Lose Yourself, 'Till I collapse, When I'm Gone, Stan, and Sing for the Moment are some of the best rap songs ever written.
Peter
I like the more serious stuff that he does, but not much of it. The not so serious stuff, as Bubsa said, is no good.
indy500fan
i find the not so serious stuff funny, and therefore more enertaining. the only seroius song i really like is stan, the one where he sings with sir elton john is awesome.
Mr_Putter
As I see it, the only pretty good song he ever did was "The Way I Am". I for one, thing Lose Yourself is terrible, and while Stan is decent, he took part right out of another song...Same with Sing for the moment...Or did he sing all of that...No matter. He's only ever done one respectably good song.

Oy_the_Great
It would be naive not to think Eminem revolutionised rap in some way. Naa, he did. He put rap on the map (all right, I'm on a roll too ). Really, Belgium, and most countries around here, apart from France, wasn't into rap at all. Now there's nothing else on tv  I don't think Eminem has made rap as revolutionary as, say 2pac, but he certainly has done something for it. timmay929
Eminem is one of if not the greatest ever. But most people would agree if i said that the old eminem is much better than the new. His new songs like "Just Lose It" and "Fack" are not anything like Eminem. They are just plain horrible. I guess he was right when he said "Trying to pick up where the Eminem Show left off but I know anythings possible but i'm not gonna top what I sold" in My First Single off of Encore. Some of my favorite songs (Going to be hard to pick my favorite since I have 57 Eminem songs on my playlist): The Way I Am Till I Collapse Soldier Lose Yourself Rabbit Run 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting

Bubsa
Look, for once in a music thread, can we do without the petty genre flaming? The author asked for your opinions on his greatest hits, not whether you liked them or not. Stay on topic. If you want to discuss whether Eminem is any good, then go make your own topic. Then watch it get locked through flaming. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Scruffy5389
Yeah, Encore wasn't any good. Mockingbird was okay, as well as Toy Soldiers, but the rest was mainstream bathroom humor. Without a doubt, his earlier, emotional stuff is the best. My favorite might actually be "Rock Bottom" from the SSLP, but classics like "Lose Yourself" are awesome too. I like some of his older humor too, like in "Who Knew" from the MMLP. It's not stupid bathroom humor; it's actually witty and intelligent (albeit angry and dirty) commentary on how his edgy attitude is received. As for him "stealing" music (like in Stan and Sing For the Moment), I don't mind that. The genius is in the re-production. He doesn't just take a great song and buy it for himself, he changes the beat and the production around it so that he really brings something new to it. I heard 'Sing for the Moment' before Aerosmith's 'Dream On,' and I've always thought Eminem's version was better. Just because of the new beat and instrumentation under the vocals, and his shouts after each line ("Sing with me, *SING!* sing for the years, *SING!* sing for the laughter, sing for the tears *CMON!!*), it's stronger, more desperate. Plus his rhymes are insanely good. Period.
