  1. 1. So what do you honestly think of my idea?

    • I like it.
    • I hate it. I don't want a new skill.
    • Good idea but some things need to be changed
    • I hate it. I'd rather another new skill.

Many people want a new skill... so i'v wrapped my brain around it so here is my best idea.

*Clericy*

it would be the ability to heal hitpoints, disease and poison amoung other things... and as constitution is tied to combat, Clericy would be tied to prayer, also raising combat levels. To make it fair, and not make food obsolete it would drain prayer point in one chunk. And certain heals (mostly level 60+) would also have a prayer requirement. The two skills could compliment themselves very well. To use a clerical spell/item/skill you would need the required level(obviously), enough prayer points to cast/use, and take 10-60 seconds to recharge possibly. Recharging time is higher for the higher level spell/item, so you will still need food. Another spell (i'm just calling them spells, but it could be called "favor" for asking the god's favor, or blessing) could be "restore" working like a restore/super restore potion. Another could be BLESS and BLIGHT causing sped up attacks, or slower attacks respectively. Also you could have certain items boost the effect like prayer, or it could be tied to a prayer bonus. Training Clericy could be done in two way, casting/asking a spell/favor/blessing, or like prayer done in an other method, for example restore temple's, or healing injured player or npc's, which would go well with the injured groans newly added :P

there is alot to be tweaked, this is just a rough idea. I think this could make pvp/pvm alot different, and some more difficult for example clericy being drained the lower your hp or if you kill many monsters it lowers (because your doing something a cleric would not do :P), and attacks by certain monster's draining...

and in pvp if you use a blessing/favor/spell you can use certain prayers in the same area

just idea's... and since alot of people want a new skill it might as well be tied to combat, seeing that the main aspect of the game is combat based, and the new skill should be useful be useful

Not a bad idea. Is there a need for it? I don't know really.

This might over-power the already-over-powered combat of Runescape :P

Plenty of thought gone into it, though it does sound a little bit like WoW.

actually i kinda got the idea from Warriors of the eternal sun, an Rpg from 1993 for genesis (actually my favorite game ever) :P

and the point for pvp with blight's is to level off alot of the overpowered rs, and with pvp it would do the same a bit, and possibly make it harder to camp higher lvl bosses if it drains your clericy, but for the shorter time you could be stronger

but like i said it could go the other way and make you be able to camp longer but when casting makes you weaker? just an idea

and there isn't a need for it, but people keep begging for a new skill, im happy with the status quo but if there must be one, my best idea :P

RS doesn't really have combat complex enough to benefit from a support class. They tried it with the lunar spellbook and it just didn't work out.

^^ This. And this is too tied to prayer, some of these ideas might work as one off prayers which take a chunk of prayer points and heal/cure you, but I don't think this would work as an entirely new skill.

i like the status quo as is, i was just saying that people want a new skill and this is most relevant i could think of,

and is any skill "necessary"?

and my ideas on training is "Training Clericy could be done in two way, casting/asking a spell/favor/blessing, or like prayer done in an other method, for example restore temple's, or healing injured player or npc's, which would go well with the injured groans newly added" (had you read it you would have seen both answers to your questions :P)

and i think yes it should lvl combat.

I don't think a new skill is worth the dev time unless it's necessary.

neither do I, i like it as is, but alot of people are begging for it, so i thought if there must be one, it might as well be useful
