I just got Agility 48 and I am wondering if it is a good idea to leave the barbarian outpost and train in the Ape Atoll course. Also do Sköll boots work if I wear them and the monkey greegree at the same time?

Also, what is the fastest way to get the ninja monkey bones?

No, it's not a good idea. Instead, go to the Wildy course at 52, or (I think) 49 with a summer pie (the entrance needs 52, and I think one obstacle needs 49). Then do either that, or from 60, Werewolf to 70. Before level 70, Ape Atoll is too slow because of the failures. Wildy is better if you are skilled at not getting killed by PKers, but Werewolf is not far behind.

The fastest way to get ninja monkey bones is to kill a ninja monkey. I think those scimitar guards work just as well as the archers.

:sight: seems that I'll keep grinding in barbarian for a few more levels...

The no fail level for Ape is 75. If you fail an obstacle you lose a big chunk of your experience because the you get a lap bonus at the end (which means it really sucks if you make it all the way to the end, and fail swining down the vine). Thus Ape gets really good once you get close to not failing/can pie to not failing. Before that though, it would be slow and frusturating.

I do have the tier 1 surefooted aura so I can get 20 mins of no failing even at this level, does that change something?

                                                                         Dusk%20Soul.png

Use your no fail time with the aura at Ape Atoll, otherwise train with the above suggestions. So potentially you could just ape atoll with 20mins with the boots to get to 52 for wildy.

Ok thanks for the suggestions.

So about the Sköll boots, does anyone know if they work in monkey form? I still have 92% of their power and I want to use them...

                                                                         Dusk%20Soul.png

With Surefooted, Ape Atoll is worth doing as soon as you're allowed to; without, you should wait until you're fairly high agility, since failing the course lowers your xp rates drastically.

Skoll boots should work fine in monkey form.

Yes, they work on Ape Atoll.. but you should always wear them since they don't have x number of charges before they disintegrate. It lasts for a set amount of experience based on your level.

Working on max and completionist capes.

Watch for the message saying you have a charge of 90% left on your skoll boots. Write down your current exp and then use them until it hits 80% charge. Take the difference in experience from start to finish for that 10% and multiply by 8. That will give you a pretty good idea how much Agility experience you'll get from the boots if you decide to use them exclusively for Agility (I suggest you do).

Woodcutting is pretty fast and AFK so I do plan to use my boots exclusively for Agility.

Should be noted that Ape Atoll is a course without a lap bonus. Failing the last obstacle does cost you 300 xp however.

It functionally has a lap bonus because the last obstacle gives the bulk of the xp, you have to complete every other obstacle to get to the last obstacle, and failing any obstacle forces you to start over from the beginning of the course.

You can use the fairy ring to avoid the first 4 obstacles :P.

Don't you need Battle at orks' rift to access that fairy ring? And I am pretty sure that getting back to that ring would cost me a lot of time making it really not practical...
