Cheefoo
Boom. Goin' fast. Boom. That's my setup. Trying to make the task as quick as possible without sacrificing too much in the way of survivability. Any suggestions? Gotta make this post quick too. Boom. P.S. Assume I'm wearing a vampyrism aura, my strength potions are brew (4)'s and my inventory bolts are of the enchanted diamond variety. Blam. That wasn't very fast. Vezon Dash
Dragon claws. Make some of those potions into flasks so you can carry more. You also have like 9 brews which is a fairly large number imo. Also, you probably won't need all 3 of those (Extreme Ranging?) potions.
Low Levelled
I don't think you could claw jad out. But it would speed up the caves considerably.

You can. It's roughly a 50% chance on task with maxed str bonus and ovls. It's going to be significantly below that for him.
Powerfrog
Gano and swap range for SoA. Much safer and faster. (Only SoA jad to save cash. SoA everything if you want optimal speed.) Claws aren't great for caves as the special has an annoying delay which can make kiting 360s difficult, and being in melee distance with jad is generally a bad idea unless you're experienced with it, dds might be best as things have low defense, and you won't need the EE specs very often if at all, especially with vampirism. Cheefoo
I wanted to bring a generous number of extreme range doses mostly because I want to make sure I can re-pot during the fight with Jad if I need to brew. I think I could manage a few less brews (maybe 20 doses instead of 40), but I'm not sure what else I'd do with the saved inventory space. Maybe I could bring Torag's top/bottom for tanking the rangers better. Or spec restores with dragon claws (or dds if the 360 kiting is a big issue), but only a few spec restore potions probably wouldn't make much of a difference. While I'd like to use SoA, it's not currently in my budget. In fact, the biggest reason I'm doing this is for a second fire cape to unlock the Fight Kiln, and maybe complete it for money via onyxes. I'm having trouble finding a consistent way of making money that I actually enjoy and I thought that might be it. You have a much higher chance of killing him faster using prayer deflections (exaggeration). But really, SoA on Jad is really bad. Out of the ~ 20 Kilns ive done using SoA (thats 140 Jads) on my main, about another 8 on my Pure with Barrage (thats another 40 odd) plus 20+ Fight Caves i've found mage to be terrible. Horrible. You're better off using Melee > Ranged > Mage. Using Claws against 360's should cause no issue unless you're not using a mouse to play.Spec them from a 2-3 square distance and spam click the a spot 2-3 squares away soon as you see the exp drop. Can't mess that up, really. EDIT: Should mention that the only time i found SoA to be better than Melee vs. Jad was with the Magic Crystal from the Kiln, but sadly that's only The Kiln. Hedgehog
Something like 9 or 10 failed attempts using soa can attest to jad's insane magic defense. Even in max gear, you'll be lucky to break 25% accuracy.
Quyneax
I don't know guys, I killed Jad really easily & quickly with magic, several ones (some Kiln some Caves) :P. Anyway, ranged is horrible, black dragonhide is horrible, broad bolts are horrible. If you want to range, use runite bolts + alerter, but it sucks. You're 99 magic/attack/strength & 87 ranged... Use overloads/renewals (2 is enough), Bandos & rapier the whole way. If you are really unsure of your kiting, bring polypore/arcstream and a couple of mage armour pieces. Cheefoo
After my frightening experience with polypore staff last time (the splashes haunt me), I decided to go with ranged. AAAND... Probably the last time I'll be doing the Fight Caves. All the tension and dramatic buildup to the final bout against Jad gave me one too many nervous ulcers. I got my second cape for the Kiln -- so long TzTok, hello Tokhaar! I was even considering making a flash based jad simulator at one point for practice, before i realized how much hard work it would be. :P And really guys? SoA seems a lot better than range to me, I'll give you that it's not extremely accurate, but it's still enough to outshine range easily. (I wonder how the new crossbow fares, it should reach overpoweredmode before the healers come at which point you can probably outhit their heals)

Leon S
SoA is better than range, that's for sure. It's just that leeches are broken for mage spells right now so your accuracy is kind of low seeing as Jad is assumed to have 640 Magic levels... but it still beats range by a milestone.
