January 18, 201313 yr Jagex previously mentioned that they would add set effects to POP armour so that it isn't outclassed by Nex armour. I'd have to go dig for the QFC on that, though. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

January 18, 201313 yr Unless Jagex fudged something Nex gloves aren't an issue since they are better than Dom ones (or were pre-tweaks this week). Also in terms of of armour the defence curve makes PoP significantly better, enough to be worth it.6999 def, 1920 lp on torva plate vs 8102 def and 2016 lp on the tradable Tetsu body vs 8932 def and 2040 lp on untradable tetsu body. Dominion tower/glacor gloves/boots are slightly better in armour than Nex boots/gloves but lack the prayer bonus (and DT gloves degrade too, of course). PoP armour is worth getting because of the promised buff, but until then Nex armour should be a little better. Nothing in the game really requires that much def atm.
