I have been playing Runescape for a long time, since March of 2002. I was young at that time and didn't have a lot of patience, so I leveled up my skills very slowly, eg. mining one load of iron at Falador and then switching to fishing at a river somewhere....... I also love to hoard money, and was determined to "work" for my experience by not buying any raw materials at all. As you can see, I wasn't exactly Runescape material, impatient, foolish and determined. So I did what many before me have done, I semi-quit, playing once or twice every month. After three years, as of mid-2005, my skill level was around 813 and I had remained f2p. But since last year, I've gotten better at raising my skills, I could actually sit for hours at the computer clicking at the same thing. While this isn't exactly an ablilty to boast of in the real world, it can be useful in Runescape. As of now, I have 917 skill points and I'm still f2p, which I consider as something of an achievment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I soon discovered Scapeboard after I started and found it helpful, informative and going through the pages was most entertaining. Scapeboard gave me a strong feeling of community that I rarely see elsewhere. (but that has diminished somewhat now at Tip.It) I would look through the boards and the "You know you've been.........." threads were my favourite. However no one would remember me as I have never posted on Scapeboard, nor on Tip.It, as you can see from my post count. I don't like to speak out to the world, I just like to listen and learn.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well anyways, I really need to ask for help now. I'm about to have my A-Level exams in April and I really need to study. For those of you who don't know, A-Level exams in Hong Kong determine your university placing. My grades at this moment sucks. So I have decided to really take a break from Runescape. A complete break, as in ZERO Runescape tolerance. This is where you come in. I would very much appreciate it if those of you who read this would add my Runescape name to your friends' list and when ever you see me online, ask me for 10K. I will give it to you, I'll even switch worlds and personally deliver the 10k to you, wherever you might be. Hopefully this drastic action will deter me from playing. My private chat is always on and I promise that I'll never switch it off until my A-Level exams are over. 10k is not much for many of you and I realise that, but I hope that will be enough to buy a place on your friends' list.

Edit: Ok, I'm back for the Easter event today! (Today as in Wednesday, 12th of April, 2006) I must say, going without runescape really does free up my day. Unfortunately, my grades still suck. My exams are half over, with 3 subjects gone already. Final edit: I'm FREE!!!! The exams are over! It's time to rejoice and celebrate til the end of time! It's time to do anything I want and not care about it! Oh yeah, it's also time for you people to get rid of my name and free up your friends' list. Thank you all of you who did add me. I'm proud to say that not one of you got a dime from me. I went for two months without Runescape and I survived! The legends are true! It's possible!

yes, definately take a break to study. school comes before games all the time. this seems like a good idea for you if you know that people begging for money will deter you from playing. ill add you to my list, but instead of begging for 10k, ill beg for 20k just to double motivate you :P

I don't understand it, why some people have so many problems to not play RuneScape when they have to study? I must say i maybe study less, but it's still enough for decent results. And if i can give you a good advice Alan, stop with RuneScape, if you now already have problems with the test to get into universtiy, what you think you'll do in universtiy? It's almost impossible to have a great life, a great runescape life (if you can call it a life) and good grades. I don't say it's impossible, but it's hard.

I'd think that most semi-intelligent people would realise as soon as the person complained they were annoying them or seemed confused.

Alan, i am in the same boat as you, I too have A-level exams that determine placing in Uni, but I am in UK.

 

 

 

Yes, we need to study, but we can play without quitting the accounts. Just take a brake at 1 for an hour and 9 in the evening.
