January 9, 201511 yr The only monsters I use magic against are mithril dragons, steel dragons, iron dragons and bronze dragons, and it's a much better idea to use earth surge against them. That leaves me with no monster I can think of which I should use a fire spell against. The only monsters I can think of that are weak against fire spells are ice giants. But since their melee defense is low as well, and can't hit for much, I'd rather use melee against them. So yeah, should I sell the fire runes I have? I have plenty of them and would make a lot of money. At the same time if there are monsters worth fighting that using melee against would be a horrible idea, I'll keep them. EDIT: And keep in mind I'm only referring to regular monsters which I can kill five or more of in one trip, so boss monsters don't count.

January 9, 201511 yr only the mithril dragons are weak to earth, iron, steel and possibly bronze are weak to water
January 9, 201511 yr Author I have made up my mind, I am selling them for sure. There is a very limited amount of monsters out there that are weak to magic. And those who are are either boss monsters or monsters that are weak to spells other than fire.I will get a lot of money for it. Also the spells that I do use that require fire runes are spells I can easily use with my mystic fire staff. So no biggie. EDIT: Alright, that wasn't exactly correct. Ganodermic creatures can be killed pretty easily from what I found out. However, I don't have the required slayer level yet, until I do there is no point in keeping my fire runes.

I don't have a clue about how you came to the conclusion of not many monsters weak to magic. Also all monsters weak to one form of magic are also weak to other forms of magic, just not as weak as to the specific one. You sound like you asked something but already made up your mind before you even asked. source: http://www.tip.it/runescape/bestiary/advanced-search-results?keywords=&race=All&level_from=&level_to=&lp_from=&lp_to=&ratio_from=&ratio_to=&attack_type=All&weakness=3&aggressive=Either&retreats=Either&quest=Either&poisonous=Either&players=Either&habitat=&drops=&examine=¬es=&credits=&search=Search http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. January 10, 201511 yr "Weak to Fire" doesn't mean earth air or water are bad for them. The way weaknesses work is.. Magic: Fire, Earth, Water, AirRange: Thrown, arrow, boltMelee: Stab, slash, crush If a monster has their weakness of fire, then they are at base, weak to magic. Just that fire spells are slightly more accurate against it.Because it is weak to fire, it will often use melee to attack, so it is neutral vs melee (stab slash crush), and range (thrown arrow bolt) are inaccurate against it. Point being, unless you are fighting something very strong (boss), the type of magic you use is irrelevant. so long as they are weak to magic Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum

I tried using fire surge against a mithril dragon, but it took longer to kill than it did when I used earth surge. So in many cases it DOES matter what type of spell you use.
January 10, 201511 yr It depends on gear and levels too. As a rule of thumb a lvl 80 gear you can ignore small weakness (fire, stab, arrow etc) and focus only on large (mage, ranged or magic)At lvl 90 gear you can ignore weaknesses entirely with a few exceptions eg ascension (ranged) and polypore dungeon (magic) Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
January 11, 201511 yr glacs are a pain if you don't use fire magic, aren't ice strykes terrible without? or is that my imagination? for most things its a tiny difference though
January 11, 201511 yr Author glacs are a pain if you don't use fire magic, aren't ice strykes terrible without? or is that my imagination? for most things its a tiny difference though Don't worry I will buy some fire runes after I have reached the appropriate slayer level to be able to kill them. But since I can't as of now, I have no reason to keep fire runes in my bank.
