We don't need people who decide to kill themselves because they have issues and a game tips them over the edge. It's been repeated over and over again he DIDN'T kill himself because he got scammed, He killed himself because he was having problems at school and at home, And then his best friend scammed or hacked him, Which threw him over the edge, Because his best friend betrayed him, Not because he lost some pixels, Wow. I know many people's who lives sound so much more worse then losing one friendship and some runescape items. Second of all, though my words are far too late to help this poor soul, i have a few words to say. Suicide is NEVER the right thing to do. Yes, he may have had problems, but there are people far worse off than him. Right now there are people in New Orleans (and the surrounding areas) who have lost everything they have ever known. they have lost all memories, their house, their families, their pets, and their lifestyles are gone, all gone. they don't kill themselves, they have returned to the wreckage and are currently rebuilding their lives from the ground up. What gives you the right to say your life is so much worse for losing 11m in a video game? througout my life, i have fought with severe anti-semitism, bullying, lonlieness, inferiority, and yet still manage to keep myself fine. friends of mine have attacked me, stolen from me, and made severely racist comments to me (needless to say they're not my friends anymore). i have lost great amounts in runescape too. i simply got back on the horse and began again. but i am not whining. i realize that there are far worse off than me and it would be insulting to them to believe that i deserve more pity than them. i apologize if i offend anyone, but it needed to be said. This reason is that I was in so much pain and I was going to die anyways. Suicide is a stupid way to end your life. Your life may get better, or may even get worse, but I know the stupid things that drive people to suicide. My aunt's boyfriend commited after she told him to smoke outside of the house. You can tell that this guys life wasn't as bad as others just because he had some friends, a ongoing education, and still had at least one of his parents. He also most likely had his own computer, since he had the 11 million in the first place, and that puts him a lot better than a lot of the people I know. I have friends that I know are in a worse situation than him and are making the best of there lives, not even thinking about suicide. I have seen a lot about the people who commit suicide just because of losing an item in a game. To him, the 11 mil must have taken a lot of his life in the first place, and if it didn't, he could of easily made it back. Even if it was his best friend who hacked him, there are other people in the world. My best friend hacked me a while ago, and I hacked him right back, and I never spoke to him again, so it isn't that hard to get over something like that, even though this friend of mine was the only friend I had, until I moved somewhere else. Now I have plenty of friends. Life worked out for me, it could of easily worked out for him, and even if it didn't, so what, make the best out of it. That is not suicide, that is sacrifice. "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." That highest level of selfless service should never be compared with such a selfish act as suicide. I feel compassion and sadness. Not for him, but for his family. I can't imagine what they are going through when their son can't even go to them with his problems and instead takes his own life. Suicide is a result of tunnel vision. Whatever people say about what he must have been going through, etc is meaningless. We all have pain we go through in life, some more than others. The true measure of character is how you handle the challenges that life gives you. Don't allow people to mask this as anything but pride. It was pride that leads a person to "not want to bother" others with his problems. It was selfishness that made him make the decision that he would rather force his parents through a lifetime of pain than bother them with his problems. Tunnel vision. Pitiful.
