If they are in a normal format then surely it would distort the page (due to the size limitations). Its photography...you take a picture with your camera...thats the entry... Its pretty simple. I would say that the editing should be kept to a minimum, such as only try to greyscale it or something. that is an example of the editing i think is allowed, some colouring, and some other features changed.
