Do you think it would be good for fansites to..

Featured Replies

...be the official RuneScape fansites?I personally don't really think it would be, because i guess i'm more of the person who likes more secluded and unknown things, and Tip.It would become more known, more crowded, etc. Post what you think.

P.S. Sorry if in wrong forum or spam or whatever

I'm pretty sure we were the official fansite and listed on runescape's main page until they stopped supporting fan sites. Still, tip it is one of, if not the largest fansite out there. But now jagex pretty much banned the knowledge of an internet's existence from runescape, so nothing will come out of that idea.

definately not, i have my reasons. and ill keep them to my self.

edit: well, yeah the site is fine for being the official 1. but i have "issues" with other aspects of tip.it

it would cause to much contriversy(sp) between the other fansites

Ok what I meant was if they put up the site names again, do you think that would be good?

EDIT: changed the title

every little kid would join tip.it seeing it on the rs web site and ruin the fourms saying "my dads rs character can beat up your dads rs character"

RHQ and Tip.it will between the lines of the best sites

Probably because Jagex didn't like the idea that 3rd party fan sites would generate cash through web ad's without them actually seeing any of the profit.

The self-proclaimed king of bronze.

i dont see how much worse the forum community could get... so why not. at least tip.it's site would get the admiration it deserves.

No becasue jagex would make them agree to ridiculous demands in order to retain their "Official Fansite" tag. Remember their Mournings End part 2 guide ban?

If you want an official forum go to their official forum.

I see Tip.it as a free organization giving us unfiltered and full information about the game. If that changes I will not hesitate to go somewhere else that has not been forced to give out only "Jagex Approved" information.

The Slayers Guild a Slayer Clan led by Axe Man Jack

Proud to have written the most plagiarized Slayer guide on the planet.

There was some discussion on this subject on the rant board some time ago (on a rant about rule 11). Its really a shame the rant board is pruned so often, *some* of the topics there contains very good discussion.

Anyways. Hard for Jagex to decide what is a fansite with quality high enough to be listed. A fan site could be very good today, and contain tons of bad stuff tomorrow, they have no control over that. Still, as it can be done in other games, it is of course possible.

As for my personal opinion. I know how to search the web, so I can find fan sites on my own. Not really needed to list them I think.

Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

how about the 2 week bans me and leesters got for breaking jagex's rules and telling about it on these forums?

as you may or mat not know, leesters got banned for 2 weeks for his 8 year old dmed story, and me for admitting to having had(past tense ) a autotyping program(which apparently is legal but i have my doubts) any way, i stated i didnt use it on runescape but like once to try it out and see if it was possible. and i got a 2 week ban from tip.it.

now, both of us could have made this stories up, i know some people whom literally watch things and twist it around and i know not why. and i find that the admins mods whoever polices these forums to be one of the bad points of these forums, but yet i like tip.it because its honest and the community is one of the first to know of things.

amoung other things i find a select few people on these forums whom which i maintain a mutal respect relation ship with and a close friendship with some.

my words :) and also being official means get approved on content from jagex and also adding their rules in comunity. no thanks. i rather be in free speech place where i can express my opinion without fearing my account get banned by jagex

Yeh. DO NOT SAY TIP.IT on runescape your looking to get banned.

Also, i started with tip.it, im Loyal to tip.it, i never ever go to Runehq or any other lame RS fan site.

TIP.IT is my home! :)

mysig11sv5.png

If jagex would name a specific site as fan sites they would be holding themselves liable for any bad things that could happen on those sites.

I think Tip.it is the best fansite by FAR!

I like it so much for 1 reason

Wich is the lay-out and the clear organization

Not really because it has better / more information

It just has the best lay-out , colour .... I realy hate dark colours like RHQ and RSBandB

I don't say the information isn't important (that's why we go to fansites ofcourse)

But it has to look good !!!

For the forum counts the same

It has a nice colour , has a clear organization ....

It's treu it's getting a bit crowed

That has advantages and disadvantages

More people answer your questions and there are more views from different people...

The big disadvantage is that the people in the community aren't devoted to each other

Well , this is my opinion
