Before that, there was a gate blocking the area, with an examine message saying "kingdom of Asgarnia - coming soon!" Back then, everyone would speculate what Asgarnia would be like. Ahh, I miss those days so much... But besides that, in another year or two you (being the players of today) will be saying "Gee wilikers I remember back when Ardougne was released so many years ago" (I actually do remember when Ardougne was released with the Paintball gun dock). Well fortunately for you, you're living in a golden age of Runescape. Better and better things are being developed for the game, it's at it's highest ever player amounts and Jagex is very well off so they have no sign of stopping Runescape. Many would also say that RSC in it's early years were the golden years but it was probably more so a stronger community because of the few number of people that would play as well as not everyone is looking for a 2D game so these people had much in common (in terms of taste in games). I can be like zezima, old nite or novalyfe or i can actually plays that long. Or maybe i can even beat them.
