You should have the mage run down first to lure Rex away, then have the two rangers (easiest to do two rangers and one mage if you're splitting the drops) bring a DDS and obby shield to spec Supreme to almost dead, and once they eat both pull out Guthan spears and finish killing him. Range Prime on the edges and you'll all 3 be able to stay there for over 10 pray pots if you've got Guthans to heal on the level 70s :P

 

 

 

But anyway congratulations.

But YES! That was a great trip! :D Sorry I couldn't come to the one before, but that 20k Attack exp got me 111 Combat, so I had to get it. ;)

That's not counting the drops you guys got. :shock: So we all got something good that trip. On my many many trips to Kings this trip was by far the best, and the most fun. I can't wait for the next time we go Leesters, and Odd. I look foward to it.

 

 

 

EDIT: Odd, the only reason you're the Dag Master is because you have such good luck there. You are without a doubt the LUCKIEST guy I have EVER seen when it comes to Dagannoth King drops. Period. I think I'm in the hunt for your title, though. Usually it's me and you as the last people there on our trips. ;)

Well, if Cdub and Leesters didn't get their money's worth last night, they DEFINITELY got it today!

 

 

 

We took 2 trips, starting at 11 PM. It's 3 AM now, if that indicates how long we take to do 2 trips ;) And that's leaving the 2nd trip with half our pots left (I'll explain later).

 

 

 

The first trip 5 of us went. It was a grand ol' time, nothing exciting to tell about, but Cdub and Metallica maged; Leesters, Markkei, and I ranged; and in between prime kills, Leesters and I killed Supreme.

 

 

 

Cdub and Metallica got an axe and berserker ring (the ring after Metallica had to teleport), and Leesters and I got an archers ring. Markkei got most of the Prime kills but I don't think he got anything off him.

 

 

 

As Leesters TRIES to leave, he gets the Drill Demon random event, stuck on range pray, low HP, and poisoned. Luckily when he came back into the room, Prime did not attack, and he teleported safely away.

 

 

 

Then three of us went back, Metallica, Leesters and I... and god was this trip a disaster waiting to happen.

 

 

 

First thing, Leesters isn't quite used to the area yet, so he doesn't know by heart what prayer he'll need in the upcoming room. He was down some food before we ever went in.

 

 

 

Then we go in and supreme is just tearing up Leesters and me. To make things worse, we can't hit jack on him, and our Guthan wasn't healing. We used up at least half our food just killing him. Then to make matters worse, a few moments into the trip Leesters gets ANOTHER random event.

 

 

 

"Greetings Leesters... Here, It's all yours"

 

 

 

That's right, mystery box in multi combat fighting level 303s. To make matters worse, we're in the middle of fighting prime, he's already low on food, and he'd have to run past supreme to go outside and try to do it. Finally we kill off prime and he runs out to do his box, waiting for me to kill Prime again before returning.

 

 

 

We keep fighting low on food, and everything going wrong. Soon after this, while trying to fight Supreme, Leesters gets mauled by Rex as Prime respawns. This is a situation he hasn't had to deal with much, so he still panics just a little when this happens :P

 

 

 

He runs around like a chicken with his poor little head cut off, till finally we get Rex distracted by our mage. Then, as fate would have it...

That's right... now me. some good luck, huh? I went upstairs and quickly returned, box free :) and we continue our horrible, suicidal journey. Sadly, I soon got a message "From Metallica56: I'm out of runes, I'm tele-ing"

 

 

 

Great... just great. We're fighting supreme, waiting for Prime and Rex to both spawn on us, and Leesters is foodless at 40hp or less very reluctant to teleport. As soon as Rex pops up, he hit that button like a good man :)

 

 

 

I tried to stay, but I couldn't fight prime with Rex chasing me, at least not without runes. I tried running out, but Rex stayed by the ladder when I came back in, and if I waited too long Supreme would be back and I'd get slaughtered.

 

 

 

I teleport away with over half my prayer pots still in my bag, and come to the bank to find out Leesters had not only gotten a mud staff on our trip, but also a Seers Ring. 8m in items, and I wanted the staff, so I GLADLY gave him 500k for my mud staff to keep and cherish and cuddle with when nobody is looking... oops I said that out loud.

 

 

 

Despite our awful luck, Leesters came out with 4m in drops tonight, and Cdub got himself a good 4m of his own.

Also, Odd when you solo (If you do) how do you get past the ranger? Always owns me whenever I try and solo :(

D'oh!! Mark and I were trying to get a dagg king trip together all yesterday after the drop party...Low and behold, ye all go AFTER i sign out fer the night... :evil: But yea, nice drops... :o

dagy kings rock i have got over 750 dagy kings kills. i wish i someday i can go to dk whit oddfaery too :)

When i am sooloing, i usually look nearby trainers from watherbirth island, who sometimes help me open doors, and when they wont , i just haveto tele back to cammy and find some assistance from seers, who will do me that great favour and come whit me. when going to dagy kings layr, i first look, will suprime going to attacking me, if he does, then ill look, where rex is. If rex is far enought ill go and try to kill supreme, if rex is close to supreme, ill go up from ladder and wait 10-20 secs, then will go back down. if supreme is not attacking me when going down from ladder, then i just try to ignore him and run to safespot, doing big round around supreme.

technically I don't usually go with intention to solo, I just usually end up lasting over twice as long as the others and that makes the last part of the trip solo.

 

 

 

My colleagues have improved though and even though I'm still usually last to leave, there's less and less of a time gap now :P

Now that one had me laughing my wagon off, literally. lol. Great recap, Odd! That was a great read, even more so since I lived it with you.

 

 

 

It really was a disaster trip, but great drops for the trouble, eh?

 

 

 

When the mudstaff dropped for me, Odd was standing on it. I go over to pick it up, and he says, "Don't stand on me, goob"

 

 

 

"Well, I had to pick up the Mudstaff, unless you'd like me to just leave it"

 

 

 

"Omfg!"

And doing push ups and sit-ups when you know you're going to be teleported back to almost certain death puts a whole new perspective on that piece of camo (which I left on the floor as I hit the tele button AGAIN as fast as I could)

 

 

 

And watching Odd do a happy dance when he got a nearly free mudstaff was worth the trip. Not to mention that I have three pretty little rings in my bank that are all mine. Just need a bezerker ring to finish up the collection.

 

 

 

As disasterous as this trip was, it was probably the funnest I've been on yet.

That is true. I would of been the last pixelated man standing last night if I hadn't run out of runes. Who would of thought I'd use up 500 Deaths (500 Magic Dart casts) and still have well over half my prayer/brews/super restores left. Next trip I'm bringing enough runes for 1k casts. ;)

The bid was 4.1 mil, and I split the cost with Cdub. He ended up paying me 750k, cuz I bought his half of the axe. I'll make 1.5 million of a third of the 4.5 million mud staff, so I only paid a total of 1.85 million for the best slave on the board. :)

including a full dragon collection, now thats got to count to something, I mean, you could of bought a daxe, but thats not fun, and i think it costs more :twisted:

Lol, I remember you showing me that on IRC. All of the sudden odd comes out of nowhere and says "MET!!!" "MET YES YES YES". I'm sitting here thinking what in the WORLD has gotten into him, he's usually quiet on IRC most of the time, then out pops a link to a picture.

 

 

 

I click it, see mushrooms, blue grass and other odd things (no pun intended ;)), scroll down and read "Excellent, you're doing great. Your next task is 113 Dagannoths." I couldn't help but actually laugh out loud. I would go change my task but I have Gargoyles at the moment and really don't want to change it.

 

 

 

Now I'm certain that we'll be making quite a few trips to kings in the not too distant furture. But I'm all for it. :D

well i read your trip and i say u seemed to have done fairly well for your first king dagganoth trips especially fighint supreme for 30 minutes they way you did

 

 

 

I am a fellow king dagganoth slayer and the people i go with (mix of around 20 ppl, around 4 or 5 ppl per trip) have taken the slaying to a very profitable level. Normally the team consists of 4 or 5 people with the following set up: 2 rangers, 2 meleers and a mage. With this set up and none of these people having guthan we can stay for around 45 minutes to an hour. The trick is to alteranate prime and supreme and while the rangers mage prime have the meleers stand behind them after making sure prime is attacking one of the rangers everyone else can take off prayer. The mage just stays in one of 3 safe spots and mages rex and keeps him out of the way of the meleers who can feel safe as they pray range on supreme since they wait for prime to die before engaging.

 

 

 

Recently I have honed kings into even more efficient: 1 mage, 2 meleers/rangers

 

 

 

For this I and my melee/ranger partner, deadlyone18, wear guthans and bring karil with c bows while martin6479 mages rex. We bring obby shields and a dds with us also. We spec supreme and finish kill quickly then we can keep rotating between supreme and prime with quick efficient kills for the next 1-1.5 hours of even more.

 

 

 

I am currently trying to find a screen capture program that doesn't cause me to lag and once I have found this I will post a video guide along with a written guide to the Ultimate Slaying of King Dagganoths, so look for it soon.
