spazguitar306
PRE-GUIDE The one thing I noticed (but didn't feel like making a new post just to say) is that this game would be a lot more organized if on the screen you had a display somewhere showing which portals were left and which ones had been destroyed. Also something to show what percentage of healt the void knight has left would be nice. And with this (but not as needed) could be some sort of way to show where the walls had been broken. But the third of these ideas would be used much less than the first two. Now for my guide VOID KNIGHT GUIDE Now, from playing several games today, right after its release, I've come up with a few strategies (if you can organize an entire team of random people) that would make it far easier to win. To begin with, the most important rule is always close the gates. You don't want your defenders swamped down with twenty or thirty monsters to fight. So the first thing to do is split your forces. You'll want most of the low levels defending the knight because they most likely can't hit the portal unless their magic or ranged is exceptionally high. So I would say anyone below level 60 should stay near the knight. Secondly, you'll want a couple rangers and/or mages in the towers to protect all the gates. These rangers and mages should be very high level. Thirdly, you'll want to organize your attack groups. Two attack groups works best. I've heard some people say attacking the two northern portals and using a vicegrip attack on the bottom two works best, but you can take out the bottom two first if you don't want to build up a ton of monsters at the front gate. Depending on which of those attack methods you choose, you will want to follow one of two defense categories. First, each of the attack groups should have several 100+ fighters that will do most of the pounding away at the portals. Then you'll want your lower levels, 70-80 is best, taking out most of the monsters and watching for spinners. This is where the strategy can change a bit. This is also where ancients plays a HUGE role in winning easily. If you have 2-4 ancient users on your team, you'll have a huge advantage. If you decided to destroy the two northern portals first, have at least one ancients user stationed just outside the front gate, blasting away with ancients and keeping it from backing up. You'll then want to try and put one ancient caster with each attack group. But if you don't have enough, it should still work. You should only need one ancients user with each party, as two would be a little overkill. If you have a second caster, have them defend either right by the void knight, or running back and forth between the remaining gates, checking for backups. Now, if you go with the southern two portals first, you won't have as much of a backup on monsters to deal with, but you'll need more casters. With the above method, one ancients caster dealing with the front gate is all that is needed. With this one, you'll need two for both side gates. But once again, both methods will work. If you can somehow work out a way to get all of the people on your team to follow a strategy similar to this (or just a few of your friends that can cast ancients) then you should be able to complete several rounds of this very quickly. TIPS AND TRICKS -Distract monsters to your advantage. Instead of spending your time killing a spinner instead of the portal, distract the spinner so its attacking you instead of healing the portal. -Leading spinners away from the portal and getting them stuck behind you also works. -Although there are several rumors already, to my knowledge, and to the knowledge of several other high level players, SPECIALS DO NOT SPAWN SPINNERS! And until Jagex or one of the mods posts something about this for sure, I am sticking with the idea that this idea was just a rumor. -If you time it right, just before you are teleported into the game, if you are walking, when the game starts your character will already be running to the southwest. This can give you a quick start before any of the monsters have started spawning. -Now, I can't tell you what to use your points on, but I have found it much more efficient to use them all on prayer. Seeing as prayer is one of the hardest skills to train. Being able to get 2000 prayer exp. in less than 20 minutes is quite an accomplishment for me. -If you are attacking portals, keep the Improved Reflex prayer on the whole time. It drains rather slowly and will allow you to hit much more often on the portals. And when you die, or end the game, your prayer is restored to full (just be sure to turn the prayer off after the game!) This is all the information I could fit into this guide from my knowledge, and several other players that have been playing the game all day. If you have any suggestions or corrections, please let me know. Thanks. Noctis
Remember to plan around the fact that the maximum number of people that can go is 25. The mini-game automatically begins if 25 people enter. It also begins if there are 5 or more people in the boat for 5 minutes.

spazguitar306
I tried to take into account the amount of players. If you had the entire team participating, it would work amazingly. But seeing as the odds of getting all 25 people to follow your orders are low... The main part that would work is the ancients. You and about 5-10 other people could own the whole game :D but if you found a deserted world... and u had 24 friends to play with u... then it would be wonderful  Help me do this please, and you can get a free Wii too!!! http://gadgets.freebiejeebies.co.uk/7294

Ball_of_Pain_Reborn
Remember to have at least one person with an inventory full of wood (preferably gathered before the game) and an axe+hammer to repair the gates/barricades if the ancients allow it to backup and be destroyed  Good guide anyways :P
kav
Nice guide, but one question. I was playing once, we killed all the portals, and i got three points instead of 1. Any idea how that could have happened? or am i just seeing things? BK.
ChewyShoe
My guide is as follows, have 2-4 people guarding the knight, then get everybody else to attack the portals. You really don't need to protect the barricades unless for some odd reason you are going for the 20 minute win. Pressline47
Does anyone know if things change with different numbers of players, I would assume that it would be made easier if you only have 5 then if there are 25, but since it came out yesterday I have not had an opportunity to play without a full boat. Also possibly in the future wouldn't it be cool if y ou could get 4 friends and take a private boat or w/e, just you and your friends defending the knight. spazguitar306
thanks for the additions when i have time i'll update them into the guide right now i just have a second to bump it btw, ska247, if there is a shifter in the south square, y shouldn't u kill it? just wondering. i was thinking maybe it was to stop other monsters from attacking, but i was just confirming the reason. thanks again Help me do this please, and you can get a free Wii too!!! http://gadgets.freebiejeebies.co.uk/7294

Noctis
You don't attack the Shifter in the south square because the monsters that swarm the south gate can't range or mage the Knight through it. One Shifter hitting zeros most of the time is better than half a dozen magers and rangers attacking the Knight. Max hit I've seen from the 113 Shifter has been a 10. Max hit from a ranger I've seen a 15. Now imagine half a dozen rangers with max hits of 15 attacking Knight. It's very important to have a South side shifter blocking those mages and rangers. Everytime we didn't have one or some noob killed it we would lose in 1 or 2 minutes. When we had a south side shifter, we could go for over 5 minutes just hoping those people would finish destroying the portals.
NukeMarine
Problem is you're writing the guide as if one person has control of all 25 players, and that's not the case. A better guide just breaks down what you as an individual can do to help the team along. - Put on Str prayers and pot with super strength. Damage is key. - Wait by the gates to close them when the last person walks through. Should not take long. - If you die, don't open up a gate blocking monsters to get back to the fight. Equip a bow or magic and goto towers. - On hi detail, you can hear a certain sound that is spinners repairing the gate. If you can't see it, right click on groups to find its location. - If spinner is blocked by monsters, you HAVE to fight your way to that spinner. Call others to the case. Try ancients if you have to so that the area effect damages the spinner distracting it. - Spinners can be distracted. Hit them till they attack you. If you see 2 or more spinners in the "group", attack one then the other. - ATTACK THE PORTAL. Unless it's a spinner that's repairing the gate, you do not need to attack any monster. The exception is the mages in the tower doing barrage spells on 20+ NPC's and getting mad experience. - You can cast STUN on the gate and you can POISON the gate. You know you've stunned the gate when the stars appear on it. - If you're constantly dying outside the gate, try helping out inside. There will be plenty of the teleporting monsters to wail on. JUST LEAVE TWO of them on the south side of the Void Knight. - This is difficult to do, but wait on the boat for 3 seconds. If a bigger group goes right, then head to left side and vice versa. It's easier to destroy gates early on if you have 4 or 5 guys there. Be the one that plays for the team and goes to the side of the island that needs you. - Goto the water side of the gate to avoid attracting shots from the monsters. - Groups need to go left and right and meet at the two portals on the south. This way, if one team is slowed down, you are going to their aid in short time. - Need tips for those inside the gates - Need tips for those that try the towers. I think that each tower is in range of each gate. Ssjvegito636
Here's a tip for those inside the gate, if the gates are open or damaged, have 2 people stand in front of it so they can block the monsters. (And be able to get exp) Also, try putting a low level shifter on the southern end and if someone is coming, tell them not to hit the shifter. I havn't tried being a human barricade there, but it might work. I'm not sure how many worlds are really good at this, but World 9 pretty much has this down. Nathaninch
This game is super fun, I dont have much more strategy info to add, but the max points you can get at one time is 15, then you gotta cash 'em in.
spazguitar306
Thanks NukeMarine, for the individual info But if you notice, I already stated several times in the guide that your odds of controlling all 25 people are low. This would be in the event that you and some friends get together in a few games, or in case they ever make a way in which you can split into teams and choose team mates and such. I will update the guide later.. I'm still rather busy with schoolwork at the moment. Help me do this please, and you can get a free Wii too!!! http://gadgets.freebiejeebies.co.uk/7294
