That's direct conversion of Jap and US currency.

It can go higher, or even lower.

I'm willing to bet they'll go with an even $200 price point and make up the difference in some other market :P

And here I was thinking the price point of the PS3 was going to be a disadvantage for them...

Silly me.

Say what?

Nintendo Announces Wii Information, Worldwide Shipments

Following its overwhelming debut at E3 2006, Nintendo today announced the current fiscal year unit shipment forecast for its new home game system, Wii̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ. Nintendo also confirmed that the price of the Wii system, which incorporates unique freehand control, will not exceed $250 in America, or ̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâÃÂ¥25,000 in Japan. The company plans to ship 6 million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on March 31, 2007.

The projections are part of a full-year financial forecast that sees growth of 18 percent in sales globally, based on anticipated continuing strong demand for the Nintendo DS̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ portable game system, as well as a successful launch for Wii.

The company also said it expects to sell 17 million Wii games in the period. Exact launch dates, identification of the launch library of titles and details on the unique Virtual Console aspect of Wii will be announced soon.

Flawed? It's downright invalid.

The Wii is the only console I'd consider purchasing, and it is THE FIRST. Simply because of the innovations.

Yea the Wii's gonna rock. Although i will most likely continue to call it the revoloution. Zelda, Metroid Corruption, SSBB, hells yea

knight0fr9vh.jpg

I don't see why everyone calls it a Revolution. Wii is a perfectly fine name. Sure, the first day, everyone was going bananas about the wierd, phallic-sounding name, but only a few weeks later, most people have come to terms with it, and I think its increased talk about Nintendos console. People need to come to terms with it: this is the name, and it's a better name than Revolution, which would have been a fine, but ultimately mediocre name.

Yeah. I sometimes call it the Revolution just from previous habit, but I've noticed myself saying Wii with more and more ease recently. Maybe I should start calling Vista "Longhorn" and see what people say.

Silly rabits, consoles are for kids.

Yet where-ever I go, I always see a 7 year old holding a Gameboy SP.

"Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"

I love that they changed the name to better market it to the [developmentally delayed]ed 11 year old community.

Which is why they should market it on runescape ads.

Let me guess, you're a Sony fanboy?

The only console i need is my trusty Xbox that smelts CD's...

Why not just stay with the Revolution?

Meow?

i was @ the karamja docks fishing 1k lobs, and 1 of the biggest convos there was about the wii, they talked about the wii for hours on end, i couldnt belioeve they talked about such a pointless subject...

anyway, i could care less about the wii (why did they change the name from revolution to wii?). the only systems i have in my house are nintendo, but i still would rather have an xbox for the online gaming an stuff, the wii might have this, but still, too childish of a system(who cares about mario when u can be shooting some1 down in halo :? )

Because surely games can't be fun unless you kill someone so its not 'childish', right?
