FAST gem rock mining

Ok, this happend to me long time ago, but is still the same:

 

 

 

After i first time proudly entered shilo village when i have done the quest, i rememberd the gem rock, and i wanted to mine them (I was around 51 mining lvl).

 

 

 

So i start mining, and its is going fast to get the gems, a little time after some other guy came, higher combat and mining (his mining was 68) and he mined the gems too, he clicked the rock, and i clicked it: I got the gems, and the me again, and again...

 

 

 

Shortly: I got the gem after i hit the rock 1-2 time with the pick, and he hit it defentaly more times than me, so i asked jagex:

are you wearing a glory?, if yes try taking it off and see how fast you get them, its the glory thats getting them so fast for you (if your not wearing a glory you are very lucky)

then your very lucky, i forgot my glory one time and i was mining as slow as a gold rock, and i have 78 mining, ran to bank threw on glory and was 1 hitting again

What suprises me is you got an answer for this! Some of us spend a lot more time sending in many many reports and queries and get the same old automated response.. yet you do this and get a reply from Mod Clark ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâì_ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâì

 

 

 

On-Topic : It's all down to luck really, sure sometimes the higher the mining the more likely you are to get the "reward", but at the end of the day RuneScape can be just a big game of luck and patience.

its the same with every low level fast rock

 

 

 

the lower level alwasy seem to get it if they have a rune pick

 

 

 

being a level 74 miner i know quite a lot on the subject and really hate this problem

I have the same.

 

I'm mining level 85, and almost EVERY TIME I lose from those low level miners. I'm wearing a glory but it doesn't help anything. I get pwnz0rd every time. It's definately not based on luck. I've had it so often now that it's more than just luck.

Possibly, your glory was charged, and his was not. That should make a difference.

I have always heard (from mods, players, and even Jagex) that HOW FAST you get the ore/gems is random. The type of pick and such plays a part in it but almost all of how fast you get the ore/gems is random.

ya when i had like 50 mine because when i was f2p all i did was did all quests and mine and smith a lot and kill random things so when i became member i heard of gem rocks thought it coolest thing ever i was like a 50 back then and i wanted 40 craft to get into the guild so i got tons of gems there and i had maybe around 50 mining and i practically always got it and i wore a glory but it got me to 43 craft there which was pretty cool

lol it has a lot to do with mining lvls to tho, as i had lvl 40 mining and could just hold my rune pick axe it took much much longer to mine than the lvl i have now (66 btw) it also has a lot to do with the mining lvl your on, it doesn't mean you all ways get the ore but you get it faster most of the times.

When mining any rock the probability of getting the rock is determined by the amount of time you have been there, I believe this is a similar thing to the tolerence you receive from agresive monsters after you have been there a long time.

 

 

 

2 examples I was at coal trucks I had been there a long time, a level 99 miner (Confirmed on ss) comes along and hits the same rock as me, every time I got that rock, I always leave the glory in the bank as I keep getting gems with it on.

 

 

 

I went to the mining guild and a miner was there cant remember levels but a fair bit lower than me, he was mining the mith ores I wanted mith and would mine the ore next to him, when he finished his rock he would attack mine and get it, after that I would go to any rock if he was mining or not and 9 times out of 10 he would get it, he went off to the bank and when he returned I was getting every rock.

 

 

 

Try it yourself it works every time.

 

 

 

So if you are competing for ores get a mate to collect them from you and you can own the mine.

You both were getting gems, not just you. I found this out when Village Clean-up started and many wanted gems to trade for sticks. Eight guys were all going to the same rocks. Most were getting the gems.

 

 

 

So, at the gems, it's best if you ALL goto the same rocks in the same order. No need to split the rocks.

 

 

 

How to make sure: Ask those around you to type "1" when they get a gem from a rock that has multiple people on it. If you see 2 or more "1"'s then you know that multiple can mine the same rock successfully. Why? I may be lying, so proving it yourself is the best confidence builder.

 

 

 

NOTE: Does not work on regular mining rocks, just the gem rocks. Regular mining rocks you have to fight over.

I have noticed- gems come much, MUCH, more frequently with a fully charged (4) glory. If one glory had one charge, and your had 4, you would definatley get more gems- regardless of mining lvls (ok, not talking about 1 mining vs. 99- I am talking about 10-15 lvls difference)

Actually, no. A charged amulet of glory does increase your chance of getting gems, it says so when you charge it.

 

 

 

I'm not sure if it affects the gem rocks, though, that'd seem a bit silly. I guess it was just the randomness factor being out of whack.

That is correct. Everyone mining the gem rock has a good chance at getting teh gem. I found this on my first trip there when I was competing with another guy at lvl 88 mining (mine was 80) and I was getting 5 of 6 gems each respawn and he kept taunting me saying he was getting the gems. I didnt bother to correct him if he was really that happy about it.

I remember completing the quest, mining there and laughing at another dude (10lvls more then me) With an uncharged glory and me getting all the gems.

 

I knew a glory gave more chance for gems but U wouldn't really think it would actually make u mine a "rock made for gems" faster but yes it did and I realized it back then :P Didnt bother me ;)
