Design Challenge.

 

 

 

Topic: Knight.

 

 

 

This competition is open for all to join and submit. The gist of it is that you take the subject (in this case, a Knight) and make it your own by rendering it in any media (pixel art, traditional, digipaint, vector, what have you). The idea is to stray from the generic and put your own spin on the topic, but still keep it recognizable.

 

 

 

Goal: Create a distinct and creative character concept, Knight.

 

 

 

Rules:

 

 

 

• One entry per person
   
   
   
  Must have been hand made by you alone. No abstracts with renders or anything like that.
   
   
   
  Must be a Knight.
   
   
   
  Explain your character in some sort of short bio. A sentence or two will suffice, but longer ones are accepted.
   
   
   
  Posting WIPS is ok if you want, but keep in mind that blatant plaguerism based on any WIPS will not be tolerated.

 

Feel free to give me imput on this post, with extra rules that should be implemented or more discrpition.

Venomai: Whew, thanks. Thats the kinda list I wanted, but didn't have the brain function to do at midnight. Deadline? Hmm. A week? Sounds about right, I don't want this to stretch too long, but till have a good amount of time. I'll be happy to see your piece!

 

 

 

Misterxman: Way to pass the prize bucket to me /grumble. Maybe I could do that. A nice avatar for the winner. I dunno, how many people would find that incentive? Hope you finsih in time if its going to take you a week, deadline is this sunday night.

 

 

 

Remoteman: Heh, I probably wouldnt win either way with the likes of Venomai entering. But, that doesn't mean I'm not going to submit something! It just wont be in the running.

we should have these monthly, like whoever wins gets to make a new topic and gets to choose the new topic. But if they win twice in a row the 2nd time he cant choose his own topic, instead he can pick another person to make the topic and choose the new topic/theme. how bout that??

ok well i have started mine but im not going to post my idea or any WIPs yet... because i dont want people taking my idea. Im really having trouble with these stupid legs... lol

I started one, no hope of winning really, mostly because I'm only doing a frontal shot of him, no fancy pose or armor or anything.

 

I'm just using this as an opprotunity to practice shading.

I think it would be better to post them publicly (the best would to keep a WIP thread open for it, and only post in this thread for finals.. but whatever works).

 

 

 

That way, not only can we spot who's stealing who's ideas (based on post time), but we can also offer support and advice to those participating. :)

 

Anyways, idea stealing shouldn't be that big a concern. I'm not even sure if GS is going to let people enter with the same concept/bio as somebody else, especially since he is looking for creativity and originality in this.

Venomai: Any sort of ripping wont be tolerated at all, if thats what you mean. I think I'll use this thread for WIPS, and then when it hits the deadline I'll set up a new thread for voting whilst simultaneously opening a new topic for next weeks competition if thats ok with everyone.

I remember that one... I really like the forearm that I did, but everything else is a bit subpar, so it's tucked away somewhere to be finished at a later date.... .... i.e. never... :lol:
