Lets play solid blocks of music videos of girls with big booties and slanging crack. Then we'll every now and again we'll play that "positive values" commercial. I don't remember what the commercial says verbatim but it's about bettering yourself or some crap.

 

 

 

It's the most contradictory channel I've ever seen. Not to mention some of the worrrrrrrrst hip-hop I have ever come across. Not so much the mainstream artists but some of the lesser known ones are horrible.

 

 

 

Also, why does MTV play the same 5-6 videos over and over and over. It seems like every time I flip back to the channel they are playing "Touch the Sky" or that funky reggae man.

I agree with you 100% BET is very very very contradictory. And if MTV isn't playing a show about spoiled rich kids, or dating, they're playing the same 5 or 6 videos over and over and over again (and the music in all of these videos is horrible).

I like some songs that 106 & Park plays, but some songs seem just lame now. I like Bay area music, they have better raps than music videos shown on BET :wink:

First off with Mtv,stupid.They used to have to have great programming but its gone downhill.My Super Sweet 16,Ocean and Park,Tiara Girls lol?And its in like what,Real World 17? MTV sucks to though, the "Real World"s are so fake. Acutall all those Laguna beach styly shows are all so fake and scripted that they piss me off that some people think they're real.

 

I mean come one "Real World South Beach?" I spent 3 weeks in South Beach a few monthes ago, was it like the show films it? Ha ha, funny. SouthBeach is full of really old people, retired Jewish jewlers, gay 40 year old guys, and a bunch of lame 35 year old men (think Night At The Rocksbury) who patrol the beeches looking for hot teenagers--there aren't any besides a few tourists with their parents. I'v been in the clubs there too, again they are filled with tourists and more 35 year old aroused guys looking for the girls they see on shows like Real World.

Well, one would expect Black Entertainment Television to be primarily casted by blacks.

 

 

 

In the end these channels play what the majority wants to see. So if there are a few of us who think there should be positive music like your example of Little Brother and other decent artists, there are always going to be more that think Bubba Sparxxx and 50 Cent are better, so more popular, so they are played more often. The movies though are directly based on the name (Black Entertainment...), which is why they are played. Juice is a good movie though.

 

 

 

To make your point, I'd say in my life I've watched a total of two minutes of this channel.

Also the entire concept is stupid and quite detrimental to blacks in general. If blacks are completely equal to whites as they then why isn't BET identical to Comedy Central? Having a station aimed at black people that primarily shows people doing Cocaine is in fact saying that blacks do cocaine and drugs. The station itself furthers the stereotype showing how different whites are and blacks are (and how different their TV stations are)

BET is already good enough... we don't want another racial channel, it'll cost riot in the street like what trapical said
