New Runescape Website Feature

Well.. little did I know, Runescape puts alot of hidden updates and messages into the Knowledge Base. So today when I went to check something, I found a new little feature built into the Runescape Website. Personally I found it pretty interesting. If you go to the Runescape front page and scroll down, in the Account Recovery table you will see a link called Appeal an Offence/Ban. Give that link a click.. enter username + pass and it will show you your Runescape rule breaking history. Mine didn't have anything interesting in it... if anything at all. But ya.. allows you to totally clear anything on your account.

It says I have no offences, but in my message box I still have a report where I got a black mark for 'advertising an inappropriate website'. I don't even know what I got reported for, but it doesn't show up on the ban offences thing, maybe it doesn't work? :>

That or it got removed for whatever reason...

Im all clean.

A little suprising seeing what happened back in 2002 on the original runescape. Maybe thay forgot all about that tiny misdemenor.

:?

Or maybe there is a good behavior bond, like no offences in the last 3 years, like demerit points on (australian) dirvers licences.

It seems that many of the very old abuses are not showing up for many people. It may be like bbbbrain2000 said that they just go away after a clean record of some duration. I think that they only started keeping actuall records of what exactly happened a few months ago when they thought up of this system. Pretty sure all the newer bans and such will appear there.

Sweet, I am clean. I am unsure why this has been implemented I mean it is cool and all to see what your status is. I guees it would be nice to know if you have gotten some black marks, that way you would be more careful in order not to get banned.

Hah. I remember being marked down for being a troublemaker in 2002 (I was even muted for 5 days). I guess they forgot about it

Hi Riku3220,

You have been caught by one of our player moderators for flooding the chat screen with text, possibly using an auto-typer.

This 'spamming' is not fair on other players that are trying to communicate and trade with each other.

If you were using an auto-typer, we strongly recommend you do not use auto-typers or for that matter any other external add-on programs, because a huge number contain trojans, keyloggers, viruses or spyware. Whether they are actually allowed or not is beside the point because when you account gets hacked as a result of trying one, it will be as good as banned anyway.

You have been given 1 black mark on your account.

Sincerely,

RuneScape Customer Support

yet when i looked on the thing i got this

Congratulations! There are no offences on this account

On a noob account that received a black mark in January for saying google. I guess they realised that it was stupid :)

EDIT: for some reason, I don't see the "there are currently # out of 10 black marks" text. However, in the source code of the html frame I found the following text:

The Green Zone indicates that there are currently no blackmarks on your account

What's the Green Zone? :?

EDIT2: found it. The Green Zone is the flag that the knight is holding. Move your mouse pointer above the flag to see what text it sais :)

Runescape: Lodev (Combat level been fixed at 101 for years now, Total level 1500+, playing since march 2002)

Arenascape: Lode (Level 240+ Warlock)
