The fact is, England never would have, or were going to, win the World Cup on the form they were showing.

I'm just re-watching the England Portugal game: that red card that Rooney got was the most obvious red-card play that I've seen. He does a rugby tackle on the first guy, then stomps him in the balls (don't know if everyone caught this, but he came down with his cleets pretty hard there :o . Then pushing the guy 2 feet from the ref? That's rediculous to say he didn't deserve that.

 

 

 

Other notes:

 

-Aaron Lennon played an amazing game, the most impressive player for England, even though he was only in when Beckham left.

 

-Crouch: why is this guy even here? He doesn't do anything but stand there and be tall.

 

-As much as I think Portugal deserved to advance, I would say that there was one time when Lennon got tripped, definately deserved a penalty kick...Everyone went nuts when he didn't get it, I agree he should have got it.

 

Edit-And one more thing. There's a reason Portugal didn't destroy England and there 10 men. You can see why they wanted to go to the shootout :roll:

 

Edit2-After 2 watchings of the same game I was able to study it further. C. Ronaldo wasn't really doing to much wrong. He actually played pretty well. Sure, he took a few dives (which didn't gain him much, clearly, since there were no goals in the whole game). Portugal easily outplayed England that game.

Anyway, Parreira is so dumb...The team didn't deserve to win, they didn't deserve to beat Ghana.

 

I bet Scolari is so goddamedly happy right now, though. He's Parreira's rival, got to the semis with a "weaker" group of players (please notice I didn't say team) and beated the 2002 Cup. Parreira didn't get to the semis with Brazil because his ego didn't allow him to change the team.

 

During the Ghana and today's games, I wasn't even cheering for Brazil.

ive just seen it on Skysports news, your right it did look like he did it on purpose, and his sending off was justified. still, Ronaldo had a part in getting him sent off, the referees intrest in rooney only occcured when ronaldo talked to the ref.I thought that FIFA where meant to be cutting down the players influencing the referees desitions. Dude give it a rest, England are out, Portugal are through. You seem to think that Portugal weren't good enough to be in the quarter finals, I personally didn't think England were. They didn't shine once, some medioka performances at best. Besides I think Rooney is in the wrong profession, he should have gone into Rugby, awful play by him completely deserved his red card.

Then Rooney pushes him, which leads to a sending off.....then Ronaldo winks at Phillipe Scolari....Disgraceful....You didnt see any of the England players doing that!

 

 

 

When we finally score in the penalty shoot - out the goaly says he wasnt ready when for every penalty he is off his line which is cheating.
