dn1dn2
Well after scanning through the recruitment page i came across several clans whos names well lets just say they dont do the clan justice. Back in the days of GOOD clans the likes of Gladz, The, Fear BDK BOS etc the names ment something they atcually struck fear into pkers if some said BDK or GLADZ loged into their world.... anyway now i see names like: Extreme Death Pures Of Zamorak Dragon Warriors Zamarocks' Fleet Runescape Raiders (typical noob clan--THIEFS) i dont mean to flame but if someone said extreme death loged into the wildy on my world id laugh and go noob hunting. Wat do other people think?
marqouth1
Probably because the good names have been taken  o
Kewl_Sabre
I guess I would agree. Many names have gotten less original over the years... Although we have to recognize that many great names have already been taken. I mean, who can top "The Sabres"?
dn1dn2
lol i agree thats the good names have been taken but if you were serious about starting a good clan im sure if you applyed some thought you'd pull a good name out of the hat. still currently clan names suck
Ts_Stormrage
usually clan names are just picked and voila thats the clan... the clan im in which extremely slowly formed (still is forming) just had a philosophy, and the name would fit in there, and it in return should say something about our philosophy... knightmadz
I own The Plague i Think thats original what do you think? Lol and a few days ago some noob clan stole the name lol.
Omnislash42
Uhh, I don't think there's really been too many names that were exceptionally original. A gladiator fights stuff. A Black Knight gets his limbs cut off by Arthur. A black dragon knight is... I guess a dragon ish person? Maybe. A sabre is a sword and stuff. On the other hand, I still have no idea what a Zeonic Force is, and I led that clan  The names themselves don't strike fear into anyone, it's their reputation. If Damage, Inc sucked, nobody would really think their name was cool either. But they've been kinda dominant and stuff. I dunno, maybe they're not anymore, I haven't paid attention. I'm not exactly sure how you loose an effect, but...
nhp_4_lyfe
Well, its really hard to Fear a Clan right now, for some people just don't really mind losing pixel. But over time fear becomes your best friend. And these days, if you're trying to make a clan which will strive, you'll need a good team of pkers and people applying for it, so clan can grow stronger. Else the name doesn't really mean anything. It's the people who make it noticeable. :D Nighthawkpro(level-126)

Omnislash42
Malicious Intent was a freaking joke. "We intend to be malicious to you! I'm not kidding, I'm getting MEAN! Watch me strike fear into 5-year-olds and fluffy bunnies everywhere!" Their reputation just wasn't quite what they wanted it to be.
Loge_05
Well I think it's not just a case of the name. Many Clans now struggle to make a reputation now as everyone presumes them to just be a new clan, with nothing particularly good about them; or these new Clans are being compared to more successful Clans. I think it's time to give these Clans a chance, instead of condeming them for not having a scary name. Offline and unavailable.

Omnislash42
Not too much man, I'm still surviving high school. It's alright, but I'm ready for some of it to be over. You still out in Cali? I had the chance to be around L.A. about a month ago, it seems like a pretty cool place. I'd definitely like to check out UCLA and maybe UC San Diego now, but I can't afford it and theres some parent issues, but you know, the normal. ZF needs to be defined sometime... I dunno. Always reminded me of Zion. And it really was a home to a lotta people for a while when it was going well. Never was the strongest or greatest, and always had its problems, but it meant something to a lotta people. Anyways, it was a good place. It's kinda cool to see ST doing so well these days, since theres a lot of the Ex-ZF guys there... Also interesting to see the history of fringe groups  ZF and MC outta GK, ST and uhh... EoS outta ZF. So I guess the torch has been passed, in a way.
Igna
it's not like all the good clan names are 'taken'. If you have a really good name, it probably means that it hasn't been used before. If it's been taken already, it's really not all that good and original. I don't really think clan names have gotten worse over time, though...they've always been cliche, and always will be. Usually they don't make any sense or are just totally unoriginal. And clan names have nothing to do with fear. It's all about their ability in the wilderness that could cause fear. And if you 'fear' clans, there's something wrong with you. If I'm being outclassed I just accept the fact that I'll probably be sent to Lumbridge. mmuir
Dominance, Power, Fear, and a friendly relationship between members is what makes a clan great. If you had 20 level 120's on you you would be scared. If you had 20 level 20's on you you would be laughing right? If you had 200 level 20's on you you would be scared. Numbers can and do make a difference. All of you(well al lot of you) are right by saying all these people in the clan are great. Greatness can only get you so far and in a group of greatness it gets you farther. Like an old saying "One man can win so many battles" means nobody is invincible. There will always be a new uprising, there will always be someone there to take over when you fall. That is why clans are so powerful and strong. I cannot remember who said it but somebody said it is the people in the clan that make it great not the name. If all these amazing clans were noobish then everybody would laugh. I hope you all see my point. Happy Hunting, The White Samurai (mmuir)

Lowelife0
New clans arn't much about honor, they are about items, or just standing around in the wild talking, doing nothing. Ragen
When I am in the wildy with a few friends we would only really act cautious if we heard that some big clan (DS, RHD, GLADZ ect) was on the world in large numbers. From my experience with other smaller clans, if they are on a pk trip they have about 10 members. Groups like that are only willing to take on meleer's. If one of us has ancients (we usually do) then they tend to retreat. Clans arn't to be feared in the wildy any more because the average clan standard has dropped dramatically. I dunno, since I don't play anymore I just felt like I had to throw in a little obnoxious internet jargon for no reason. Naw, we weren't ever number 1, DI was at that point. I thiiink I was still leading them around late rsc, and that wasn't even ZF's prime, it was under gersh before it collapsed, I wanna say about a year into rs2, but I might be getting my times off. And then I had some issues with the parents and home life and had to quit and only was around occaisionally, but ZF wasn't number 1. Either way, good times.
