ManniX
I've noticed a number of updates recently seemed to have aided the leveling process of herblore, at least for me, and by a small coincidence I recently needed to get my herblore from 28 to 45 for legends. #1. Eadgars Ruse for 11k exp is now made much much easier with the bank at the warriors guild, granted you would need the combat level to enter. #2. Filling vials with water is now much easier and quicker. #3. Finally, Collecting snape grass for prayer pots from the hobgoblin peninsula is easier to access with a POH in Rimmington. Tele to house, collect, tele to camelot, Repeat. #1 is a bit negligible as 11k exp at higher levels won't do much but what do people reckon about the last 2? Think it will alter the speed of herblore leveling? Think jagex will nerf the speed that water fills? (it seems unusually fast) Or is it all planned by them to actually give a maybe needed boost to the ease of herblore leveling? I'm not even sure what the high level herblorist train with, so #3 might not even matter. I'm merely curious as to what impact (if any) people think this will have to the skill. Stay safe and keep it acomb xx
bflitny1
Umm, yes I think there have been a few updates that have made herblore easier to level, the miscelania rewards being the main one, there's also the herb packs you get from pest control. I don't higher levels train with prayer pots, there are a few easier and faster ways to train herblore. But still the POH will be useful for collecting snape grass. The bank in burthorpe has nothing to do with making herblore easier, it just makes that quest faster if you have access. A lot of people simply farm their herbs as it is very profitable and reasonablr farming and herblore xp, I started it months ago but got lazy and left my last herbs all alone, would be cool have they haven't caught a disease!! Drops: Barrows: 60+ DK: 4... Dragon: 60+ Whips: 2... GWD: 0...ouch!Main Goal: 2000 total with no 99's

Cool1
I'm lvl 73 herblore, and i buy all my ingredients. i make a small loss because i buy herbs and 2nds a lil high and sell the pots cheap, but i get fast xp. I find herblore really umm... interesting, i don't know how people can find this awesome skill boring :D BTW i train with supersets, antifires and ranged pots. Noctis
Although option number one can be negligible at higher levels, think about it in terms of not whether you automatically level up or not but about how many pots you won't have to make and how many ingredients you won't have to find or buy. Also, there IS the bank in Rogue's Den. That has no requirements.
ManniX
Interesting. Yeah, I had a feeling there would be better ways to train at higher levels. You even mentioned a few new updates I didn't even think about. When I first started herblore I wasn't too impressed with it, seemed a bit fiddly and repetitive but now, looking at it properly, its definately starting to grow on me. Is there any other skill where you could just buy all your ingredients/needed items to level up with and break even at the end of the day? Maybe even make a profit... Lord_K
The warriors guild isn't exactly miles from the rogues den, that tiny bit more walking wouldn't hurt. And it's easier to get snape grass from waterbirth, which if you're making prayer pots you should be able to access quite easily. Although further from a bank there's no competition most of time. Mirror
Well like what was said, the Rouge's Den has been there and Edgar's Ruse gave me a couple of levels but that was when I was low. Water filling vials is fine. I know they all get filled in your inventory but so does all the other water collecting items. (jugs, buckets, etc.) And now the collecting of Snape Grass, it may be a little faster and all but I dont think that there intentions were to increase snape grass supply with having a POH nearby. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
Adam007
Yeah, I've found myself levelling herblore lately because of all the herbs I've been getting from miscellania. One thing you forgot to mention that was made easier is collecting the fungi for super energy pots. You can get the fungi, tele to house, use the canafis teleport portal to get to that bank, then run back down to the fungi area and recollect. ManniX
Thanks for all the comments and added tips. Gangea, no one said you have to train something when you don't want to? I think you've misunderstood the purpose of this thread.
The_Valor
Training Herblore is kinda hard imo. There are two methods I can see. On one hand farming/Kingdom of Misc/2nd Collecting/Killing Druids route DOES aid you in getting from say Low 30's all the way to 65 ish quite well. BUT try doing that to level 80. From 70-80 you need (Say you are doing Super Str for decent exp) 10,000 Kwuarms. Now thats more than all these methods can get you in any decent spread of time. The only decent method (which i used to get 82). Is to ONLY make super sets and Anti Fires. Buy the herbs your need whilst farming Kwuarms for extra cash. Make sure you collect as many 2nds as you can (buy the vials though, can take 4ever getting 5k on your own) and keep selling sets for a (half) decent price. Doing this WILL reduce your cash, but it does it slowly and you can recover loses quite easily. So in surmation, where all these extra things WILL help people train herblore, to get the high levels, its still gunna cost you a bundle :) Train herb - it r0x - My skills are now really, really lame ! Time to fix that! -
moopymitchell182
If you want free exp... fish (or buy, but that isn't free) some raw sharks, and do friminick (or however you spell it) trails quest and get a lyre or two. The lyre gives a pretty close teleport to slayer dungeon, where cave crawlers and cockatrice reside. The cave crawlers are an excellent source of herbs, and they do drop 2nd ingredients sometimes. Then them cockatrice drop a lot of limpwurt roots. Once you get a full inventory teleport to castle wars, restock on anti poisons (if you're killing crawlers) and grab another shark if you're lyre only has 1 charge left. ManniX
I have to say i tried the druids and found them a bit awful. The lack of cost is about the only plus. The speed of which you acquire herbs and the travelling back and forth to bank is too much for me. The drop rate of ranarrs seemed poor and that was with a wealth ring. MUCH quicker to find 2nd ingredients that have spawns with either big numbers (red spider eggs) or fast spawn rate (snape grass) or even both. And then from there buy your vials/herbs and always at least break even.
Cdub
About a month ago I went from 60 - 81 Herblore in about a week. It was fun! So, I've got that skill out of the way, but I'm considering getting 90 soon. After all, it's one of the lowest "maxed" skills, in that the best item is obtainable as level-82. So who knows, you might see 90 from me soon. =P~ Here's a pic:
EYOWAREYA
#3. Finally, Collecting snape grass for prayer pots from the hobgoblin peninsula is easier to access with a POH in Rimmington. Tele to house, collect, tele to camelot, Repeat. Just tele to your house instead of camelot and get your servant to bank the snape it'll save you a law and some time. You could do this before with duelling rings and lyres, it's probably the same speed.
swampjedi
First of all, people with high herblore don't level on ranarr. It's just not done. Also, when it comes to the 80s levels, buying vials is more of how it works, at least for me. The big update for herblore was almost a year ago, and was called farming. Swamp (85 herblore, 1 level banked, going for 90) My Goals and Achievements
Revenga
All those things help herblore, but at the same time, they change the Unid Drop Rate on Chaos Druids, because I guess low level players are using it as their only means of cash.. Which is hell for me because I was planning on training herby up, but I don't know if that's going to increase the price of unids, and if so im selling my 1k banks ones. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i
cardovilian
The Miscellania and Pest Control updates have definitely made herblore much easier to level up , without a doubt. Combine them with Chaos Druids and you're into major xp gain/time :) Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.
