Bad experiences and moving on. (A Story)

Since Leesters isn't here to spin us some yarns. I have one of my own.

There I was, collecting tokkul and training my strength with my scimmy on those Tzharr fellers. I have Guthans so I don't need food, but I always make sure I have a few pieces just in case.

Everything is going terrific! I'm killing and killing and killing. Until all of a sudden. My health gets dangerously low. I melee protect pray and switch to Guthans Warspear so I can heal. But oh no! I attacked one of the guys that ranges and melees! I freak out and click to run away. But alas... It's futile... I toss my hands in the air and my face meets the ground... I am dead.

At this point my nerves are taking over my actions. The thought of having lost 243,853 tokkul along side my Guthans Spear is reaking havoc on my motor skills and i'm fumbling around with my mouse. I manage to reach the Culinaromancer's chest and find a glory to teleport to Karamja. I run to the volcano, down into the Tzharr place. But oh no! There's a white dot standing on that red dot!

By this time I'm beside myself, but I run over to check the pile anyway. Vial, Vial, Vial, TOKKUL! "OH MY GOD!!" I think to myself. As I pick up 243,853 tokkul. Not all has been lost. Relief rolls over me, but then I remember the spear. I ask the looter very nicely if he would be kind enough to give back at least some of what I lost. To which he replies, "Look... If you had asked before you died." I say, "What!? You've got to be kidding me!" He then teleports away.

While I did lose 7.4m worth of stuff. I'm glad I didn't lose the 243k tokkul that I fought so hard to obtain. And I realize that I was stupid for having it on me, but it was a mistake, and one that I am glad didn't cost me.

This game used to be fun and enjoyable even if I wasn't doing anything. I could just stand around anywhere and talk to everyone around, and just have a good time. If someone died, they could even come back and find their items returned to them. Times have changed, but it's to be expected with the growth this game has seen in the short amount of time it's been here. Anyway...

I went back to Barrows down trodden and weary. Hoping it wouldn't take the 15 days it took me to get my other spear. But after 15 more trips I managed to walk away with Verac's Helmet (2.8m at the time) and ANOTHER WARSPEAR! So not all was lost, and I got a story out of the deal. What more could you ask for? :D

For that guy to give the spear back?

Well at least you got your tokkul back and another spear but hey and a Verac Helm to boot! I guess sometimes it is pretty good to be lucky to get some stuff back.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

im sorry to hear that RuneScape;s *TERRIBLE* #-o comunity has once again bitten somebody in the buttocks. I'm very happy to hear that all your hard-earned tokkul were'nt lost to just plain bad luck.

However, take heart and know that the guy who didnt return ANY of your stuff is probably going to have a small brush with kharma, in a not-so-nice way, if ya know what i mean :-w

Those Tzharr can hit harder than you expect sometimes though. Any other stories of people losing items and then either getting them back, or being better off later on?

I too had an extremely bad experience today, although mine didn't result in losing gee pee.

Basically there was a low level asking for advice on fletching. Being the helpful people we are, me and some other people cutting willows at draynor give the guy some help on how to get started.

He asks where to get a knife, to which we reply at a general store. He says he has just died and is broke, so naturally I give him the 5gp to help the little guy.

Then from inside a bank, I hear a MOD shouting abuse at the player. Telling him how he should be killing goblins to earn some money instead of mooching of other players. Obviously some of you might agree, but I thought the mod was going about the situation the wrong way.

Me and some other players step in to get the mod to calm down. He avoids the situation and starts ranting about how I shouldn't be encouraging noobs to beg. He puts me on ignore (surprise, surprise) and goes about with his game.

Obviously I report him as a bad mod, but I left with a bad taste in my mouth. It makes me wonder how he could have became a mod with such little respect for other players.

A MOD abusing a player? Wow...Runescape's comunity is going downhill...

How I love the worlds that have 300 people. So peaceful.

Lucky you lol. Wish I had any amount of money. :) I read all the comics you've made for your comic, really funny, been around for 5 years so I can relate to some of the old school stuff you put on there. But I remember when people used to be nice and hand you your stuff back, instead of being jerks and just taking it.

Wolfy is Officially Retired.

I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)

If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
