Yay today is Fathers' Day so I thought I'd post it. I personally have never known my real father, but that's ok because I have a step-dad now. ^_^ Anyways, Happy Fathers' Day to all the dads here, and remember to say Happy Fathers' Day to your dad too! :mrgreen:

My goddaughter is about 5 yrs old and is all the way back in the Philippines. No card for me.

It's not fathers day in Brazil, but this thread scared me, I thought I'd forgotten to send my dad a card :P

I got my dad a card, event though I havn't seen him in so long. I kinda forgot and sent it late... like yesterday :oops: .

My dad is a genius.

 

 

 

He is smart as hell, he knows everything about everything, he was the only person in my life as a child that I would see going to the library to read and gain knowledge everyday, growing up in NYC.

 

 

 

My dad is a drunk/deadbeat dad.

 

 

 

Since before I was born, he would beat my mom, he would drink all the time. He was the reason my little brother was born through C-section, he beat my mom while she was pregnant. He was emotionally weak, everytime something would go wrong, he'd turn to alchohol. When I was twelve, he got drunk on christmas and broke all the windows in our house, he was arrested that night, he came back the next day and tried to kill my mom in the kitchen.

 

 

 

I respect him, I love him, but I wont ever forgive him for what he's done.

 

 

 

He left my mom when I was almost 13. After that he got arrested for trying to burn down a house, he was in jail for a year and a half(nothing new, he was in jail for more than half of my life).

 

 

 

I can't say more than that because of legal issues.

 

 

 

He was one of the smartest male role models in my life, but he was also the most dissapointing.

I had a very strange dream very strange. Once I thought about it I realised it. This morning I had a dream that I had a son. I saw his life go by and then it was over because I was on my deathbed. Pretty strange since I think most, nearly 15, people my age don't think of kids :shock:. Kind of wierd because I forgot today was Father's Day and luckily my aunt reminded me. You know what would be really freaky? Is if my kid looked like he did and his life happened like it did in my dream. Major de ja vu.

I know how you feel pretty much. Although I moved in with my cousin when I was six, I never knew my father. But the fact that the last time you saw him was four-five years ago I'm sure you're okay now.
