How is this going to help, you think jagex don't read these forums and know about the problems?

because it may teach a couple cheaters a lesson when they get banned and have to start a new acount and it will stop alot of people from being scamed i hope.

 

 

 

i also hope it will encourage more people to report cheaters and hopefuly we can win the war eventualy

Just play the game normally and report rule-breakers when you see them. No need to "hunt" for them. There are plenty players in F2P who report graciously;

thats what i normaly do but i wanna give them a one time big shock so maybe some of them will learn a lesson

What is the purpose of you going and looking for cheaters? I agree, cheaters have no place in this game, and if you see clear evidence of such, it should be reported, but to actively look for cheaters? That's not your job, unless you are a moderator.

 

 

 

If you still insist on seeking cheaters, I would at least ask you to not entrap people and report them for cheating when all they've done is fall for a trap you've set (and they'd otherwise be innocent.)

That's good to hear. I've hear a number of stories where players have "incited" others to cheat, or "entrapped" them in some way.

 

 

 

I've also heard a lot of complaints by players who are intent on working a skill and while doing so, ignore other players (either by not talking at all or by spending their time in private chat). These other players try to get said player to talk and when said player doesn't respond in a reasonable amount of time, said player reports him.

 

 

 

In other words, don't report people unless you are absolutely sure they are cheating. If you're not sure, don't report. Why? They probably aren't cheating - they are just ignorning you or very intent on their task.

Sorry to drop a 5 ton brick of reality ontop of you, but, what you intend to do will have no effect apon them. They are expendable accounts to which the offender doesn't care whether or not it gets banned.

Here it is. Short and simple: Cant beat them. They will always be there.

Actually, Jagex is beginning to ban the Computer ID Number itself. That means that the computer will no longer work on Runescape. They could use public computers, but that will only last for so long.

Holy crap, I'm lucky I didn't get IP banned. They banned my main and said he was autoing, which he wasn't. :x

I think it's kind of sad that I still see password scammers out there... apparently they don't seem to understand what "rulebreaking" is... :notalk:

You can e-mail or phone your internet service provider and ask for a new ip address. It's very simple to do. So IP blocking macroers will work to some extent, but won't work fully.

Also, proxies can make it appear that you have a different IP, so they just ban that one. Autoer programmers may be cheaters, but they're hella smart.

I have no objection to this personally, but I don't think this is going to help the situation a lot. Also, I don't believe that Jagex can track computer IPs, since some computers change IP everytime it logs on. It is impossible to destroy the whole macroing problem, the only way to really clear off the problem is to stop those sites promoting them (which is kind of impossible atm).

 

 

 

As for pass scammers, I dun think we need to look out for them. I am also sure that players will report them when they see them, as they usually use the same trick over and over again. I'm sure players have already learnt about this scamming technique so it's unlikely that any players will get scammed.

 

 

 

Lastly, account traders. It is not a really common incident, so there is no need to "hunt" for them. Just report them when you see them.

You're doing it for a good cause, but this is a Don Quixote situation. The problem is on way too massive of a scale for your efforts to be worth doing. You'll still go ahead and spend a few hours reporting - maybe get closer to being a pmod along the way, but the visual-metaphor I'm getting is of someone with a fly-swatter running through a massive cloud of flies waving it around. Not much is getting done.

well ya guys i know that im not gonna eliminate macroing single handed im not a stupid noob but im jsut going to bring down as many of them as i can untill i get bored and at least then they will have to remake there 5 macroers agian and it will take them more time then it did for me to type there name in

Now sorry but i am not going to sit back and let you guys attack someone for trying to do the right thing, he and everyone else is entilted to do so. This is a good step in the right direction and probably will discourage a few of them and aid jagex in the riight direction to catching these cheats.The scum in life!
