My first attempt. Done in paint, words added in photoshop. Took more time than it should have.

It's based off of Arwen in LOTR because I'm a huge junkie of anything LOTR. Those white dots are supposed to be light showing through the forest. I dunno if it worked or not.

Also, any suggestions on how to do pixel faces? It took forever just to make it look human!!

Awsome job for a first attempt. I love how detailed the horse is, and the face on the person isn't bad. I'm not a pixeler my self but i'm guessing just look at some pictures and try and work on it from there :D

Anyways, good job :D

Face looks good to me. The rees could use some work. The horse and human shape is good. The shading needs to be cleaned up a bit, maybe add some more colors. Excellent 1st pixel sig. I recomment photoshop for pixel sigs, its much easier. But whatever ur comfortable with is fine.

I was looking around and noticed a majority of the pixel sigs are outlined with black. Is it better to do that?

No..yours looks great how it is. The shading could be a little less dramatic. The colors you used to shade are a little too contrasting. But thats about the only tip I can give. The text could use some changing as well but other than that....8/10 :)

I believe that it's because the characters sometimes blend into the background so it helps bring them out.

I think some people find it easier to draw a black outline of what they invision and color it in afterward, leaving the black outline over everything. I personally like your style (Jebra) much better.

I like using a dark color of the inside color instead of black. But black outlines aren't that bad in some cases., just don't use them inside of objects.

very nice but being a huge LoTR fan myself that doesnt look much like her, she doesnt wear purple much but heck of a sig

it's from when the elves were leaving and she has 'vision'. It's hard to make them look accurate because of the stupid pixels!!! Her eyes and lips are literally 2 or 3 squares and that's it.

Thanks...I'm working on a Legolas one right now

NO!

Black outlines = nooby.

See, it's better to create your own style, and I think yours is better anyways.

Few small crits:

The shading you've done on it rocks, but, have you ever heard of dithering? It really helps with transition, and clears up the jagged edges that come with using contrasting colours. For example: jesusihatethisexample.gif

In my example (my really bad one), dithering is shown on the left, and... umm... non-dithering on the right. You can (hopefully) see how dithering can be useful. Lose the PS font, also. Pixel is done by hand, and the text that goes with pixel should follow that rule.

Oh, and lighten her lip.

Anyways, that's the best first attempt *ever* in my eyes. GJ. :)

How long did it take you to make that? Do you have any more examples?

That first one took me about an hour, give or take. I was playing runescape and working on this at the same time.

Here's the works in progress of my second one (haven't had time to finish it). I think i've spent about 2+ hours on it.

Traced?!?!...I spent so many hours on these and they are definitely not traced. If they were, it would take me like 5 min.

That's Legolas from LOTR. I have a LOTR movie picture book and I look at that as a reference to draw these.
