I have my volume up high, listening to my own music, and suddenly the ear-splitting MIDI music pops up and nearly kills me. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

However, doing so mutes ALL midi-music from playing. Which might give you a headache over why the hell your Doom music isn't working, but then again, if you're not into older games it shouldn't be a problem :P As for annoying details, well, can't really name one. But I do know that a lot of sounds annoy me. So often times when fighting in a certain area I just turn it off. I wish there was an ingame volume option of 0.5, yknow like half as loud as the current lowest value.
June 28, 200620 yr in response to turning off sound on loading screen its easy, if youre using a pc just double click the volume control in the taskbar and change the midi volume to 0, problem solved
June 28, 200620 yr Twit Uw Twit Uw Twit klang Twit Klang Grrr :evil: . I hate every runescape related noise (except for the high alching, teleport and enchanting ones), especially when fighting. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
June 28, 200620 yr Haha, I remember fighting in p2p for the first time in Classic, hearing these odd noises the goblin and I were making. I sat there laughing because it was the funniest thing ever. Then I turned sound off after I figured out everything made one... :evil: I like the teleport sound and the chimes when you just go all out on them (In your prayer room of your house). They're so funny. Every other noise is just annoying.
