Blako
While I was playing and not looking at the ads, a full screen ad came up and attempted to download something. The ad forced you to click "ok" but I knew this was not a good thing. Then norton antivirus said, "Virus detected!" Using task manager I closed both runescape game and the windows that appeared. The virus was Bloodhound.Exploit.56 Shortly after that norton antivirus said it was deleted, but its still something to make you uneasy.
wizard_1315
What? This never happened to me. How do you know that ad came from the RS website? Every path you have trod, through wilderness and through war, has led to this road...
TheLastTemplar
why dont u have a pop up blocker? http://siggy.draynor.net/goal/fletching ... cow101.gif[/img] Nova Ordo Secularum
Ks_Jeppe
The Bloodhound virus has sadly been spread all over the web through adverts, i can name several other sites which have had the problem as well... Don't blame Jagex for this, blame the advertising company and the person(s) doing this...
McOwned
What browser are you using? Retired from runescape(Banned for bug abusing)
Waffleh
Getting popups while on runescape could just be a coincidence. If you downloaded a program called Kazaa, it's also known to download adware into your computer, causeing popups even if your not online.
lavirylime
Yep, I got this twice: once on my old computer and once on my new. I contacted Jagex about it and I have yet to get a reply. What browser are you using? Firefox solves the problem, but Jagex frequently promotes its Windows Client which is based off IE6. Ironically, their only official client download creates trouble. I am a tree.

Dexek
Get Firefox. It blocks most pop-ups and is quite safe, especially compares to the default Internet Explorer. :) PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
Xaga
Are you sure this is an ad from Jagex? When you surf other sites does it still pop up? I once accidentally downloaded something with a Windows service pack that brought up ads from a certain website. I couldn't even figure out what was happening for a year.
