  1. Oh dear oh dear. The Microcosms one didn't go anywhere. Yes people interact in different groups. Yes, we know. As for 'Approach', the author comes across as bitter that other people don't feel as angry about it as they do. And they want to revert from the flawed but workable GE to drowning in macroers once more? Well each to their own but I love the versatility of the GE, and can put up with its flaws. No I've never liked merchanting, but I'll take them over the bots any day.
  2. I usually either enjoy the Times, or at worst think *meh* This one - Jagex Tease - infuriated me. Why allow an author who has not even made the effort to keep up to date? * We know there are no more behind the scenes. It was clearly stated by the new CEO * There is a thread at the top of this very forum discussing the next - the 150th - quest. A wait until they get it right is hardly surprising. I realise both of these have already been commented on in this thread. But I suspect many people who read the Times don't go on to read the forum thread. I strongly recommend that the original article be heavily - and obviously - edited of these glaring errors.
  3. Lumby. I switched to Fally as soon as I completed the quest. but went back to Lumby when the Recipe bank came out. Didn't bother to change to Camelot (or switched straight back to Lumby if it was forced). Has anyone actually tested the time/distance from each respawn to the nearest bank (and is Lumby chest or Lumby upstairs closest anyway?)
  4. When I'm on a faster computer I do play HD full screen. Looks good  . But mostly if I'm on one of our faster machines I'm playing lotro. So I play RuneScape when I can only get at a Win '98 box (bcos my kids are playing lotro  ) and that can only run the original high detail. So that is what I mostly use.
  5. I'm thinking of rebuilding my house. I know I can only have one Games room (why Jagex, why?) - but seem to be able to have multiples of pretty much everything else. Any other restrictions on repeat rooms I'm not aware of?
  6. It slows your computer down?!!!!!!!!!! I still use a '98 box - 800MHZ processor  and it runs high detail perfectly. (So do the newer, XP, boxes but that's not the point.) Pretty much any XP machine will have the processor/memory requirements; and if you play any other games then you almost certainly have a graphics card & will be fine. It's only ppl like me who hang onto their old hardware for browsing that won't be able to run the new mode.
  7. Parents don't play with their kids? Many don't - my husband regards computers as things for email & office  . My char has a higher level (combat and all-round) than either of my kids; although none of us put a great number of hours into it these days (We all play LotRO too  ). But we've enjoyed some fun times together and discuss it regularly. Plus it gives me something to talk about with their friends - I suspect most mums don't have a lot in common with their 15 year old's friends but we happily talk RuneScape together when I'm taxi-ing, and I talk to them online as well.
  8. @ those who said kind words - thank you, I enjoy paper crafts (among others) and that one provided an interesting little challenge - I've seen better instructions although those weren't bad, just incomplete @ those who made it too - good for you :D ... pictures...? @ the "get a life" crew - I take it you haven't come across the word "hobby"? @ "Where did you get the parts for it anyway?" and "If you have the ability to create a building that you saw in a game..." - I did link the letters page for a reason you know... (and no I couldn't make it from scratch) (as for "in the future"; well I'm already in good employment ty) @ "Baba yaga and her house were actually a part of the Quest for glory games" - that's as maybe; but she's from Russian foklore, as is her house. There's a nice article on it on Wikipedia. The thing I really love about it is the way it stands by itsself, I didn't expect it to. And I'll try & get an in-game pic next time I'm on Lunar Isle (Did I miss anyone? )
  9. Just wondering if anyone else actually made Baba Yaga's house from Postbag from the hedge 21?
  10. Nice. I'm an avid reader of RS books but I don't recognise that one at all. Where is it from? I hate missing things :wall: .
  11. I'm sure it will be very useful for clan chat (well the name is a big giveaway  ). But I think it has huge potential for Barbarian Assault. "Callllllllllllllll!"
  12. Fremmenik Trials. Followed by One Small Favour. Though it has to be said I finish most quests with "that was fun". My son points out I always say it :D .
  13. Top down: 4 rows - all runes & tally's lined up one above the other. Gp, tokkul etc in the last few spots Herblore unids, secondaries, pots Food (tuna, swordies & monkfish), hunting harpoon, beers Useful gubbins - pots, bowls, buckets, Crafting & Mining - cut diamonds, gold bars, needle, thread, glass pipe, chisels, pickaxe, buckets of sand (thankee Bert), adamant ore (ready for when :) ), coal, mith addy & rune hatchets, tinderbox, bullseyes Armour & weapons - black dhide, rune, zammy robes, dds, blessed sickles, holy wrenches, battlestaves, lunar staves, mage short, arrows, knife (torags & whip, ancient staff, float at the bottom) Jewellery & teleports - rings of recoil, duelling, charos, necklaces - games, gnome, def, clay bracelets, lyres, sledges, Misc quest singles - monkey madness red thing, comorb Farming stuff - seeds, payments, hops, spades Construction - teak & mahogany logs, molten glass, steel bars Then it gets messy, shantay passes, probocsis, jester outfit, Tai Bwo Wannai villager (neither goes in my house :x ), log piles for ballooning, gnome food receipt, empty vials, uncut gems, the anchor  (must get my mate to kill me :P ) all the bits & pieces you can't bring yourself to sell but often can't use eg a dagannoth hide, glories 0 & 4, part used games necklace, 300 hunter bolts & crossbow, chompy hat (5 feather white), quest cape, ... I currently have just over a page of space. Farming stuff should probably be higher but I can't be bothered to move it all  .
  14. Maybe 8-10 times, as everything except attacker. I love BA, even though the grouping is ... pitiful ... compared to "real" groups in other games (no I'm not knocking RS (much  ), I love both games). I'm on 4-4-5-5 now with a couple of high gambles when my points have reached it on def/heal. I haven't bought any of the items, I'm just aiming for all 5s. The thing that has most impressed me was a guy single-healing on level 10 on an average mixed team (only one over 100 iirc). I would have said it wasn't possible, but he proved me wrong.
  15. Now I have to admit I don't do a lot of RCing, but most of what I do do is via the abyss. I don't take a glory, I take a duelling ring - for me the few seconds extra banking in castle wars & grabbing my glory is well worth the pleasure of knowing that if I were pked, the best they'd get is a duelling ring  .
  16. but unfortunately you cannot make them again after the quest - unless they've changed it.
  17. *howls with laughter* The question is about the furthest point going outwards - getting back is easy in a variety of ways - you may add teleport jewellery & dieing to your home tele. The far North end of Meiyerditch maybe?
  18. *takes deep breath* *thumps pheasant* 1 hit - no XP *sighs with relief*
  19. 800x600 is small for an XP system (which you must have to have IE7!). If you are allowed to change the resolution that might be best - try 1024x768. Otherwise either declutter your browser significantly, or use the client - I use it on a (win 98) 800x600 & it works well.
  20. The archer type helm is pretty good I think, especially if you don't have the Fremmy one.
  21. Tried it - get a message about having to complete it before I can leave.
  22. Rat pits, like most of the other group mini-games, suffers from not having a specific world, so ppl can't find anyone to play with/against. Usually the only choice is, stupidly, world 2, and possibly 6 or 9 - busy worlds & hard to get into. Temple Building - 2 if you're lucky. Games room - always empty & I teleport through there a lot. BA - 2,6 & 9 or empty. Castle Wars - the only one popular enough to run on most worlds. PC - "everyone" knows the starting world, higher ppl can jump off from there - works because there is an agreed world. Blast furnace - is there a world for this apart from 2 #-o ? I bet most are empty. Law/air running - unofficial mini-games - they work because there are arranged worlds. Rum deal - worked for a while because someone managed to set up a specific world. Fishing trawler - empty Jagex are updating Fishing Trawler later this month - it'll be busy for a few days. Then the only way to find a team will be - guess what - world 2. Jagex PLEASE give some thought to having suggested worlds for these activities *sigh*
  23. So I can only do it once before one of my stats levels  (atk & def are already too high). Does f2p get this random? I waste most of the month though if I cancel just to get her out. I think I'll keep wandering for now & see if I meet someone else here, I can ask them if they get xp. If I don't get xp I'll go ahaed & kill one, after all I "ranged" the gublinches :P
  24. 1) Yeast for brewing 2) Take a holiday *yawn* on Dragontooth Island. Maybe they'll add other uses one day.
  25. Looks like it. Hovering over the pheasant shows: Attack pheasant (level 3). Of course I might die anyway :P .
