I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.

I think what your friend is doing is perfectly normal for a person in his position. As you said, he makes money in real life much faster in real life than on Runescape, so why bother labouring, doing EXTREMELY repetitive and boring tasks like Woodcutting / Fishing / Mining / RCing, making at max 300-400K an hour? If we assume he makes about $35 / Hour at his job (I'm sure he makes more but let's just be conservative. He paid $6 / Mil for his gold, so that means he makes nearly 6 Million RS Gold per hour while working as a real estate agent. If I were him, I wouldn't go through the boring labour in Runescape either.

Real-World trading may technically be illegal in Runescape at the moment, but the fact is, courts have acknowledged that items acquired in video games do represent real-world value. Players work to accumulate their wealth. The reason Jagex is so perserverant in their enforcement of Rule 12 is because it would greatly encourage autoing if it were legal to sell gold for real money. Subsequently, they have linked GP sales to autoing, even though (despite their denials), there is a great percentage of legit gold that is sold as well.

By reporting your friend you aren't helping him at all. If you think video game addiction is taking over his life, then you should TALK to him. Getting him banned is not a long-term solution, VGA (Video Gaming Addiction) is just like any other addiction, and should be dealt with in the same way as someone hooked on drugs or alchohol. Confront, discuss, and if that doesn't work, then tell his friends and family to do the same. But, if this is instead about your jealousy towards him, which you have already hinted it is, then you should be the one taking a step back. Is he really the one with a problem when he has a good paying job, and I'm assuming, a family?

Imagine you were in his shoes, would you want one of you'r very good friends to back stab you and report you ?

good post. those are my thoughts exactly.

never report him, say one of your freinds is dealing drugs, do you go straight to the police? then not only does he lose what he has, but hes locked a way for awhile, and when he gets out he has nothing. its quite similar i think.

don't even bother trying to point out that rs is a game, lamest comeback you can have, usually what stupid people say when they don't have anything smart to say

If my friend was dealing drugs, I would go to the police, he would be ruining many people lifes, not to mention his own.

As for your friend, I would confront him about it, tell him it is against the rules to buy GP from a website. If that does not work, then I would probably report him. Good Luck, and I hope he relizes what he has done... :shame:

one thing for sure, if his friend was banned, his payment for members would vanish as well... in fact buying gp make him less addictive other than grinding into the game disrupting his real life job...

reporting doesnt do much help if he is addicited like some posts say before, lets say lure him into tip it

threaten to eat him alive if he doesnt stop

fulldragsigcopydh25.jpg

Show him the rules, if he continues report him.

He's just helping bots out.

Quit RuneScape :)

A true friend would let him do as he pleases, and be there for him when he has to face the consequences.

Morons?

He posted like 4 pages back that he reported the guy. Why are people still debating whether he should or not?

Don't be afraid your life will end, be afraid it will never begin.

Moron? the friend has got temp ban by his report, a second report would very likely to be prem ban and kill him, this make the matter even more serious in fact...

it is gonna hurt...

Dude, your trusting a game over life, if thats what your saying. It's a game, he has to chill, so reporting him was best.
