Justin_Jgh
http://www.nwpcmall.com/servlet/the-88/ ... III/Detail Would this computer run RS without lag, and would i be able to update the processer to like 1000 MHz, if so how much would it cost? weezcake
1) Probably not. Since the processor is slow and there is 8mb of video memory, RS would lag quite a bit on that laptop. 2) I believe you can upgrade the processor on laptops, but I'm not exactly sure. Most of the time, you do with what you have. Most people don't upgrade their processors on their laptops. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Mercifull
We used to use those laptops at work. The answer is no, RS will be awful on that laptop. Chris
Actually Matt, it meets the minimum specifications set by Jagex. I'd say it would play RuneScape. Just not as well as a modern PC/Laptop. About upgrading the processor, it is possible but you'd need to take it to someone who deals in second hand laptops. The processor can't be purchased on its own. More likely, you'd need to take the processor out of another laptop. Notoriously Trollish.
Mercifull
While it technically does meet the minimum spec, RS isnt going to run very well Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Stuart_G
Meeting the minimum specs means that it may run it, but even if it does, it will be stupidly laggy and you would probably loose connections so many times you would want to throw the stupid thing out the window. It is possible to upgrade laptop processors, but due to the way they are assembled, it is extremely hard to do this and many people just dont bother trying to do that sort of thing. xevanx
as said above it will. but Weezcake, it is mighty hard/difficult to mod a laptop with a new processor. but fi you do upgrade: Video Card RAM Sound Megahurtzzzzz!(about 1000 might do) idk but it mgiht run but really laggish like. ive never built a laptop b4 so im not 100% sure. You can not build a laptop from scratch. Megahertz are not everything for the processor but 1,000 (or 1ghz) is still prety slow.
wooden_fire
unless you really need to be mobile then don't buy a laptop. They cost more than desktops (for same specs) and they're more difficult to upgrade. RSN :: Wooden_Fire Time Zone :: GMT

Actually, you can. I don't feel like finding links right now, but I've seen multiple laptop chasis, and it's easy to by the rest and put it together. So, yes, you can buy your own. Runescape would run fine on there if you aren't trying to run something like Windows XP. If you really want you could try using Damn Small Linux or something to use much less resources. DSL uses only about 30 Mb of RAM (and that's storing the whole OS in RAM).
