With the addition of the Stronghold of Security came a 10k reward. And Duke Freedom I believe recently estimated the amount of gp in Runescape.

 

 

 

Well with 3 million users, and a 10,000 gp reward that is amazingly easy to get it would mean that in a few days 30,000,000,000 gp ,or 30 billion for those who don't like zeros, has been rapidly added to the already massive amount of gp in the game.

 

 

 

Does anybody see this changing the economy in any way? It is a large amount of money to add to a game in a few days.

I doubt that all those users will ever complete or even visit the Stronghold, maybe like a third of that, not even.

I thought this the minute I did it, what the hell are they thinking? They basically make a highly anticipated skill, ruin it so they can fix the economy and then almost nulfiy it with this update..

 

 

 

Plus for the people who came up as a noob in rs1, can you IMAGINE getting 10k for nothing? I couldnt imagine that.

I'm still too lazy to do security stronghold 8-)

lolo and Ill bet there are noobs out there creating new chars so they can get the almighty 10k and eventuallly become rich by doing it with multiple chars.

I think that the economy haven't been changed in any way. 30 billion is not so much that it can change the whole Runescape money system, for that you need like 100 Billions.

yea, but it would still take 100 characters to get just 1mil, so no1 would do it lol, you could get a lot more money in that time

 

also, since the money is so wide spread through-out runescape, it will not affect anything, maybe that much spread between a few players could do something, but its too massively wide spread

Construction isn't an expensive skill or a bad skill for most people. Most have enough money.

I think I have to agree that since the money is spread out it shouldn't have a negative effect. I can only imagine if Jagex randomly chose 30 players and the next time those 30 players logged on they each got 1 billion. That would have an effect.

probebly wouldnt make a big effect considering that most of the rs population probebly died in barbarian village with that cash with them, or tried to buy like 20 death runes, then trained with them. i doubt that that 30B did anything

That's how I got my santa hats, by buying them for 10K each the week after they were dropped. 8-)

 

 

 

I tried my level 3 noob character on the Stronghold of Security, to see if I could get through it without dieing. I did, and thought it was a great way for a noob to make money. But, since not all new people to the game will think to try it, I don't think it will change the economy much.

An insignificant effect - though 10k multplied by all the players who MIGHT do it sounds a lot, the distribution means that:

 

 

 

1. Higher level players will barely notice an extra 10k

 

2. Lower level players are probably covered for their next lot of equipment.

Yeah but how do the lower levels get to the end? It's possible that an Ankou 1-hit kills them.

the ankou can probably only get in one hit before the person runs through the next door

 

 

 

plus i thought it had a max hit of 8 or 9 :?

Actually, it's possible to make it through that level without encountering any mosters at all (or next to none...very quick path either way).
