July 28, 200619 yr If this is spam or belong in a different forum, move it or close it  This isn't help and advice because I'm not asking how do I hold a defender in Rs, I'm wondering how the hell you would hold one if you had one IRL. It has no hilt, just that stub, the blade is the size of a knife so the stub is tiny. How would you possibly hold that IRL? Maybe those pegs :? I'm back?! No wayz!!!
July 28, 200619 yr A "defender" is an item used in hand to hand combat. People actually use them today in street fights. it's basically a metal [bleep]e you hold in your fist while beating people with. it's just like those things with three rings for the fist you hit with. you'd hold the tiny end in the palm of your hand as well as the sticks and the blade would be the only thing sticking visible.[/b]
July 28, 200619 yr defenders are more like parrying daggers. popular in france or something back when swordplay was big.
July 28, 200619 yr Oh, so you put the blade between a couple fingers, and grasp the handles? I guess it's longer than barbed knuckles, but used the same way? Jack of all trades, master of thieving. 259th to 99 thieving. All stats 75+
July 29, 200619 yr Oh, so you put the blade between a couple fingers, and grasp the handles? I guess it's longer than barbed knuckles, but used the same way? Yeah, Larxene from the kingdom hearts seriens used 4 per hand: They are smaller defenders called "kunais" but they are in essence the same thing (except they are not thrown) Knuckledusters I think? "Brass knuckles" :
July 29, 200619 yr basicly people have sumed it up but you place you middle and index on the bottom on long and by the cross part and ring and pinky finger on the other side and the stub slides into your palm they were quiet common during the middle ages looked very similar only smaller to a fencing sword i think
July 29, 200619 yr ya what that guy up there concering kh2 said off topic:i love kh2 \ God oF End Failed to light a fire at 99 firemaking...
July 29, 200619 yr It's only the pcture in your inventory. They probly hold it by the pegs. OR the hilt is linger when you equip it. Off Topic: Roxas owns every character in Kingdom Hearts \ Roxas \ And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti.
July 29, 200619 yr Author Why on earth would you use that for rl combat... I'd rather have a shield... I guess because you can hid it in a sleeve because the size, and slide it down your arm and grab it without your enemy realizing it. I'm back?! No wayz!!!
July 29, 200619 yr A defender in reality is really just a dagger held in the off-hand. Italian designs tended to have rounded blades for stabbing only, but many other defenders had blades also. A shield is more conventional in an all out, fully armored battle with axes and maces and swords, but in a duel, you cant use a 30 pound slab of metal. In a real life duel... not RS duel....
July 29, 200619 yr it's just like those things with three rings for the fist you hit with. you'd hold the tiny end in the palm of your hand as well as the sticks and the blade would be the only thing sticking visible brass knuckles? Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

July 29, 200619 yr Watch some Naruto I'd rather have my eyelids taken out and then be forced to live in a sunny and dry place for 3 years with no water. Naked. On topic, I refuse to believe these would be used for parrying. They're just too small. :notalk:
July 29, 200619 yr Knuckledusters I think?I think he means brass knuckles... I have a belt buckle that is made from brass knuckles, and they'er removable.
July 29, 200619 yr They are smaller defenders called "kunais" but they are in essence the same thing (except they are not thrown) Er, Kunais are thrown. You mean defenders aren't? Watch some Naruto, why don't you! ;) yes i mean defenters arent. its too late for me to watch naruto since i havent caught it in the beginning :(
July 29, 200619 yr Defenders are simply small daggers held in the off-hand (yes, held LIKE a dagger is held, lol.) They are often called "Main Gauche", which means left hand or something in french. They were superior to bucklers and other shields in duels against a "thrusting" weapon but inferior against "cutting" (slashing, chopping, etc.) weapons. Since daggers offered a superior form of alternate attack (stab/slash as opposed to bashing their heads in with the shield) and thrusting weapons were viewed as more deadly than cutting weapons, they were much more frequently used in duels. Thrusting offerred both a longer reach and a more protected form of attack (until some guy thought to simply step back and hack at the attackers' arm that is, lol. Took awhile, though.) Another great thing about them is that they offered better chances of a "riposte" (attacking immediatly after blocking/parrying an attack). So it is held by the "stub" like a dagger. The vantage point that the picture of the defender is taken makes it appear much too small to actually hold on to. A dds would look the same if pictured that way. ...history lesson over. :XD: PM me in game to use some skills of mine (glories/potions) free or to ask a question.Fire Cape - 04/29/06 Lvl 104RAHK's Pro PC Gear and Guide(clickable) Tired of hack and slash?
