TzHaar Language Guide

Hello, ever go down to TzHaar and see all the weird names and wonder... what does that mean?! Well, I've gone through some terms and make a (very small) list. I might need some help. =p

Here's what I think so far:

tzhaar = the city?

ket = melee or guard?

xil = range

mej = mage

zek = ?

toktz = weapon/armor/equipment?

jad = boss?

ek = dagger?

ul = ring?

om = maul?

So you're saying a Toktz-Ket-Xil (obby shield) means Weapon melee/guard range? :P

Interesting I guess :-k

How many runescape players does it take to change a lightbulb?

50.

1 to change the bulb and the other 49 to complain about how it was better before.

So why are you here?

I think that makes perfect sense.

The shield's main function is to "guard" the owner from "weapons".

Not to mention the Obby Shield has a great Ranged Defence Bonus.

Exactly. I think Tz means "the", what could "Tok" mean? or "Jad"?

That makes sense, so long as it doesn't recur in every Tzhaar conversation then it could be a unique word like that and we all can agree that the Jad is a uniqe monster. 8-)

I didn't say it didn't. When I said "Interesting I guess" I was saying that it's a good theory and works out for most, if not all, of the objects/monsters in Tzhaar.

You can find a much more accurate translation on the official forums, quick find code: 14-15-678-27126373
Here they are:

Hmm. I thought of this on 05 Apr 2006 21:46. This is a dictionary of all Tzhaar words that I know of. They are all guessed, more or less. But they make sense. I hope.

This guide is still incomplete, I'd appreciate any feedback as to what you might think some words are, along with reasons.

I realise that a lot of you are giving me suggestions for the word Jad....Be aware that pretty much anything you say on THAT subject are going to be pretty much ignored. The word is only used once and you can't offer me any evidence as to why your suggestion is better than any other.

Any flaws or missed words, feel free to point them out.

I'll do words first, then names.

-----------------

Ak - Sword

e - The

Ek - Dagger

Em - Mace

Haar - Strong, powerful

Hur - Skilled

Jad - Not sure, possibly "better change your prayer quick fool, I'm gonna own you bad" (Thanks Niklaus)

Jal -

Kek - Hot

Ket - Warrior

Kih - Small, light

Kl - Me

Kot - Protect

Kul - Coin, token

Mej - Mystical (magical)

Om - Warhammer

Tal - Staff

Tok - Obsidian, or having obsidian qualities*

(censor)

Tz - Very, extremely

Ul - Range or Ring

Xil - Agile, swift

Yt -

Zek - Kill

-------------

*In real life, this would mean it shatters like glass, since that is what obsidian does. In RuneScape, however, it means Hard As Nails with a capital Nee.

-------------

Which brings us on to names. I'll do them in the next post.

TzHaar-Ket - Very strong warrior.

TzHaar-Xil - Very Swift, agile and strong.

TzHaar-Mej - Very Magical and strong.

TzHaar-Hur - Very strong and skilled.

TzTok-Jad -

Ket-Zek - Warrior-killer.

YtMej-Kot - ? mystical protector.

YtHur-Kot - ? skilled protector.

Tok-Xil - Large, strong and swift. (censor)

Tz-Kek - Very hot

Tz-Kih - Very small

TzHaar-Ket-Em (Mace) - A strong warriors' powerful mace.

TzHaar-Ket-Om (Maul) - A strong warriors' powerful maul.

Toktz-Mej-Tal (Staff) - Obsidian staff, used by the mystics.

Toktz-Xil-Ek (Knife) - Obsidian knife, used by the swift.

Tokt*-Ket-Xil (Shield) - This one doesn't really make sense. Literal translation: Obsidian, swift warrior...

Toktz-Xil-Ak (Sword) - Obsidian sword, used by the swift.

Toktz-Xil-Ul (Rings) - Obsidian rings, used by the swift.

Names

(this section confirmed (eventually) by Jagex)

Whether you are Mej, Ket, Xil or Hur is decided by your stats. Whichever of the following combination of stats gives the highest total, that is what type you'll be:

Ket = (Strength + Defense)

Xil = (Attack + Agility)

Mej = (Magic + Prayer)

Hur = (Smithing + Crafting)

The Tzhaar stick their names on the end of their "titles". For example, a magical Tzhaar called Bob would be called TzHaar-Mej-Bob.

For humans, you have JalYt in front of your name, instead of TzHaar.

That would make me JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot...at the moment. My combined Attack and Agility levels are one level higher than my combined Strength and Defense levels.

--------------------------

Known Phrases and Sentences

These have all been spoken, or rather shouted, by the TzHaar.

Sentence in TzHaar first, then English.

Kot e TzHaar-Hur!

Protect the TzHaar-Hur!

Kot kl, zek e JalYt!

Protect me, kill the JalYt!

the ecamin of Tzharr-Ket is "Must be a guard or somthing.."

the examin of Ket-Zek is "God doggy-lizzard thing.."

so, Tzharr means city of Tzharr

Ket means guard.

Zek is the lv360s name. that would make it a Guard-God, and Tzharr-Kets City-Guard.

from experence, Jad means Jad. but Tztok means "Two Hit KO"

Runescape player since 2005
Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum

Yt = untranslated, but i suggest healer, because the 180 and 108 are the healers in the fight caves

Jad = champion?

EDIT:

Toktz-ket-xil: xil seems to mean range (obby rings have xil in them i believe, lvl 133 rangers have xil in their name as well) and +65 range def (same as granite shield), so obsidian-protecter/warrior-(against)range
