I went to the Family Values tour show on Sunday (KoRn, Deftones, Flyleaf, Stone Sour, 10 years) In Atlanta, Georgia. It was the second date of the show and I was very excited to see KoRn because they have been my favorite band for the last 6 or 7 years and I've followed them very closely as I'm a huge fan. The show was sold out with over 19,000 people attending. The show was amazing but I found out 2 days later that a man named Andy Richardson had died at the event. He got into a fight with 2 other guys out on the field and was left brain dead, dying in the hospital the next day. The guys who did it have yet to come forward.

 

 

 

I think this is really sad. These guys were probably drunk or something but it's really uncalled for. This great tour isnt going to get any positive publicity from the media due to this event and lawsuits will probably come from it as well.

 

 

 

If you heard that he Andy was Moshpitting when he was beat, this is not true, the 2 men had been moshing and were probably high off something. Andy told them to be careful as he had his pregnant wife and kid with him and thats when the men came after him.

you heard wrong. two guys were ruffhousing and he told them to be careful because he had his pregnant wife and a mentally challenged person with him and they started a fight with him. It was in the news, on the fansites, all over.

Mosh pits typically arent all that dangerous as you might think. He wasnt injured in a mosh pit either. I've been in several mosh pits in the past. If you fall people help you up, if you get hurt people help out. These guys were abviously high or drunk or both.

 

 

 

the only rare occation where people do die in mosh pits are usually at massive shows like a big slayer concert or something.

I've been to a Slayer show before... And let me say, I have seen some pretty violent moshing. I know a few guys got arrested at Slayer for beating the living [cabbage] out of each other.

yea, some moshes I'd stay away from but the moshing at this show wasn't big at all.

Bah, what's so fun about running in circles whilst waving with your arms anyway? It's not dangerous if you're 6'ft high and heavy build, but if you're not, you shouldn't be there.

I thought it was sad, yet predictable, however, now hearing that his kid and wife were there, it's just 100 times worse. That's pretty damn horrible.

They don't draw their own cover art, you know. Besides, look at some of

 

the things painted in the so called "Classical" era. You can find some really

 

disturbing imagery in what many would call fine art.

Dude, you don't know what you're talking about. Korn is a good band but they're not as hard as you're trying to make them out to be. What makes you think they're "demons", just because they play nu-metal even though that can't compare to any hardest form of death metal? That CD cover isn't even that disturbing. I don't think Marilyn Manson IS Satan, but he acts like he's possessed by him. I didn't say anything about anyone "preaching evil thoughts," and even if I did, why WOULDN'T I think he was if he looks like a cross breed between a man and a demon, as YOU even said. But to be honest, I tried listening to them once but I had to turn it off before I through up, much less try to understand their lyrics. Mindless sex, violence, etc are barely worse than drugs. The fact is they used it for their CD cover. I know some people find it.. fine art I guess :shivers: I was just stating my opinion. I put the warning about it being disturbing because other people that are like me might find it disturbing, so I figured it would be better to be safe than sorry. To me it's disgusting, and I can't look at it for more than 15 seconds without throwing up on my keyboard. What's cool about a freaky looking kid on an adult body? I never said it was his fault, I was just wondering who brings kids to see a band like Korn. And like I said, I guess it just depends on the age of the kid. WHen I first read the "wife and kids" thing I pictured them being little kids, which I doubt they were. I was not blaming him in any way, but everyone who read what I said seemed to take it that way. I was saying I wasn't suprised because, even though this is stereotypical, it seems like people who listen to Korn and their "violent" lyrics would probably more likely to cause trouble than someone at a... I don't know, Christian band concert or something (I'm not saying Christian music is better.. I'm just giving an example. I don't even listen to Christian music). I still feel horrible for the guy that got killed, and resentment to the two goons who attacked him.

I didn't come here to make fun of anyone in any way, I was just saying I wasn't suprised something like this happened, and why. I wasn't really planning on having to spend this much time in this thread, but everybody who visited seems to feel the need to bash me because I don't like your music. I just have a hard time finding how anyone could even call this stuff music, but that's a whole other debate.
