Well lately I've been in World 1 and i always see the 'Spending 1.1 mil' scam and I traded a guy saying that to see if he was scamming. He was so i was gonna report him but he had a weird name...a pointless name simply put. It had spaces here and there random numbers and letters, it was just plain confusing. So when i went to report him i could never get his name right cuz I would always get confused on the numbers or spaces. Do you think these scammers make these 'confusing names' on purpose to make it hard to people like me to report them or just because they can't think of a decent name? :?

Yes, they do. Put public chat on friends so you can only see yourself talking unless you have a friend in the bank. And say his name. Press report abuse and read the name from the chat bar while typing it in the report abuse screen. Simple.

It's not the scroll bar moving to fast that i have problems with...Its just getting the right number of spaces :wall:

What kind of scam? Is it one where they remove the 'K' and replace it with a '4'?

yes. from experience, by the time you can figure out how many spaces e.t.c 60secs is up and it's pretty useless then

It would help if we could cut and paste names into abuse form - perhaps someone ought to mention that to Jagex?

Yah, I saw some dude doing that with 3m and he changed 3000k to 30005 so fast it was insane. Luckily I caught him as he ran away. O:)

yea its crazy...by the time i get their name correct the 60 seconds is over so therefore now I`m in trouble for `abusing the system` :roll:

not probably the DO trade it to there other acount because they are low lifes who refuse to play the game fairly

rofl...yea he was a lvl 3. I'm guessing most of these scammers are lvl 3 because they hurry and make a account so there main doesn't get reported and they can just easily drop-trade there scammed items. (Same with autoers)

I had a hard time reporting some one once because their name was "NAME (bunch of spaces) #" I'm still not quite sure how they got their name like that, but I couldn't figure out how to report the person.

Those lamers got nothing better to do...

You realize that if you never initiate a trade with these people, their scam will never work. Best way I know of to prevent scamming.

Yes, i think those people who have an experience to scam people can make many different accounts with a confusing names!

 

 

 

Just be aware and careful when you see these kind of people with weird names and even the low levels too. All what can you do is either write that person's name down on a piece of paper or keep it in your mind so that if he\she scammed you, you could just report him\her immediately!

 

 

 

Just becareful when you trade, and keep an eye on the second trade screen. :)

i have this problem frequently. A lvl 61 tried scamming me, his name wasn't to confusing so I reported him. Hope he gets banned or i'll be mad at jagex.

people always try to scam me (iv been scammed twice) and NOW it doesnt work
