First, before I start out, I do not want to hear any spam about people not caring about free player updates or any of that bull. I am a member too, but I believe free players deserve this because their current spell is useless.

 

 

 

First, lets get to the point: Bind in free worlds is useless. It is the most underpowered spell there is, and it is the only binding spell in free worlds. I don't understand why free players dont have snare in the first place. They have every other non members quest related spells below 59...why not snare?

 

 

 

Bind is extremely weak and only lasts for 5 seconds...with the low magic bonuses in free worlds already hindering your ability to actually succesfully cast the spell; added to the very small amount of time it holds your opponent, it is a waste of nature runes. With those 5 seconds that seem to go by in an instant, you get time for about 1 spell if you are lucky and when that spell is the only thing holding your opponent from crossing over that line into the safe zone, 1 spell rarely gets the job done.

 

 

 

So what is going on Jagex? I know people have complained about this before. It is a pointless spell that is rarely used because it isn't worth the time or the runes to cast it. I hardly ever see this spell used and like I said before I am not sure why it isn't a free player spell already.

I'm f2p, and completely agree with you on this. I love pking as a mage, but it's a bit dificult when you're being hacked at by rune skimmys. Snare would make it easier to immobilize the opponent so that you would have a better advantage. Bind is completely useless, and I never use it in the wildy. To be honest, you're wasting runes if you run around in the wilderness casting bind on people.

Yeh i think they deserve Snare.. Bind is practically useless, after you bind them your lucky to get one spell in before they can move again

if you'd ask me i'll say yes,i'm pking NON STOP f2p,and because of some lame binds poeple escape

Snare would be much better, but i have gotten one kill by binding, then maxing out in the next hit...but bind still blows...

I'd have to agree, I'm a member but remember the painful attempts at f2p PKing with mage. I think there should also be a new free quest that enables you to wear a new kind of mage armour, with less bonuses than mystic perhaps but at least better than the rubbish they have to put up with atm.

I agree. I'm a member, and I think F2P need it. By te way, I've used Bind and Bones to Bananas more than once :lol: . Seriously, though. People think mage is way underpowered on F2P. It might not be able to hit as high as melee and range at high levels, but at lower levels it can hit high. I think that's why F2P don't have good mage armor. I think F2P still deserves snare, since I'm guessing high level F2P mages are getting really annoyed of their kills running away. Good idea. =D>

When I was at the dark wizards circle south of varrock (lvl 35 - 40) I used to take the runes the wizards and dropped and the bones and cast that. It used to really help me train. :oops:

But seriously, snare must be one of the most USELESS spells in p2p, name me on decent p2p mage that uses it. Bind only helps while in a large team and even then, you get about one shot

More support is needed.

I'm F2P myself, but I don't believe that Snare should be added to the F2P mage's arsenal. Why? It's simple.

 

 

 

It would make no difference.

 

 

 

Mages hardly ever PK alone, and those who do are usually unsuccessful. However, mages are extremely powerful in teams. If you are in a three person team, with 2 meleers and one mage, the mage could keep the target continually bound with Bind, just as well as with Snare, if she is proficient enough at timing. Sure, 2 Binds do cost 4 nature runes, compared with 3 for Snare, but that's a lousy reason to introduce a new spell into the game.

Mabye the reason mages dont pk alone is because they dont have snare :D

Most people are not willing to pay $5 a month just to try a game. This is to introduce them to the game. If they can actually use snare, a decent binding spell, they might realize that mages in members actually can do something with their skill.

i support..as an f2p player when i try to pk alone with mage & bind i find that the 5 seconds start when u start casting the spell so by the time it leaves my hands and i can cast an attack spell..they r running away again! snare would help a lot as mages alone r pretty weak in f2p. :x
