I updated with a Guild wars review. I should be able to do the EVE Online and Hero Online review's soon, I just wanna get into 'em a bit more. :D

Just to defend Guild Wars a little...

 

 

 

You can't move in combat (How PvP is possible then is beyond me)...

 

I don't know what you mean by that statement, exactly. I'm constantly moving in combat, and I also play PVP a lot. A lot of Guild Wars' PVP is based around tactical positioning.

 

The collision detection is badly implemented...

 

I've never had any problems with the collision detection. Pathing and such are very well-done, and you shouldn't have any problems unless your connection is incredibly poor.

 

You can't solo a damn thing...

 

I solo things all the time with multiple characters. It's a piece of cake.

 

 

 

That said, Guild Wars is primarily a team game, so why you'd try to solo anything beyond farming or the pregame, I'll never know.

 

 

 

Also, Nadril, if you didn't pick up Factions, ANet introduced Alliance Battles, which is 12v12 strategic PVP, although you join in randomly-grouped selected teams of 4.

 

 

 

PVE in the original game can also be stretched incredibly far if you take the time to complete all the secondary mission objectives and explore the entire map. There are some places that the game doesn't require you to go to that are absolutely stunning, even in the original game which, while beautiful in itself, is a far cry below Factions in terms of graphics.

I've been thinking of getting factions recently.

I played Eve for a bit, you need to invest a fair amount of time into it, not per day, but play for a long time. Some of the skills take weeks to train so people who have been playing longer have an advantage over you. Very very pvp onrientated and a steep learning curve, but great community.

The first Lineage was the first one released, so there are a lot of koreans out there that just continue to play that. However, Lineage II is still one of the largest MMO's in the world (next to WoW).

 

 

 

As far as EVE, just because they have been playing longer than you doesn't mean they can beat you in PvP. I saw a video of a guy defeating a battleship in a small little interceptor (a tiny little ship that moves fast). for example, I'm on day 3 and just a few days away from piloting cruisers, and can already fly a destroyer.

A newbie's approach to Hero online (may be updated):

 

 

 

~Download takes about 1hour 10 mins (50mins for first download, 5-10mins for second download, and 10 mins for the last download)

 

 

 

~Hard to understand all of the controls, and 3 days of playing I have only managed to grasp a few controls (RuneScape is much easier to understand lol)

 

 

 

~Getting around: confusing, quite hard, but im sure it was just as bad when I was new to RuneScape.

 

 

 

~Combat leveling is very slow.

Problems ive had so far:

 

~Didn't know how to use health, chi restores, but found out yesterday you right click on them.

 

 

 

~When you click to toggle the view right it goes left, when you click to toggle the view left it goes right, still not "fixed".

 

 

 

~When I first started fighting things i would have to click on them 6-10 times before he would walk over and fight them, turns out all you gotta do is either type V or click on them, then press A.

After seeing this I installed it (took over an hour :evil: ) and I got to 6 kyu in an hour or 2.

 

 

 

The short bow OWNS. I can hit more with it more often than I can with any melee weapon yet. By what I can tell you can have a good time playing this game without any interaction with others at all. Oh and at a low level like mine, stay ut of spirit spire, monsters 1 hit me at 120 hp 0.0 and if you go deep into it its near impossible to get back to the beggining town because all the monsters keep 1 hitting you.

Everytime I moved during combat, my attack-mode would just shut off. I'd stop attacking and have to click on it again.

 

 

 

My connection is not a problem. I have DSL, my girlfriend has 56k and she plays the game and likes it. I dislike it because I think it's horribley made. It's got nice scenery...That's about all I can say about it.

 

 

 

I tried soloing right off the bat and got owned and died. Maybe the "Warrior" class just sucks, but I couldn't solo a damn thing.

That's good TaDara :D. And yes, DnL is very crap. Probaly the most overhyped game in video game history.

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways, I updated with my EVE Online review. Not quite what I expected...

 

 

 

 

 

I may update with a HERO Online review soon, but I don't think i've played it enough. I think Ican do it though for a <10 experience.

Haven't heard of Endevor. I played on Retail for a bit (got to level 51), but i've had quite a few level 78 Spellhowlers :D .
