Is 85 slayer worth it?

Well, ive been training slayer for about 4weeks now, ive gone from 65 to 81, and now im going to make the final hard push for 85.

 

 

 

I'm now quite there yet :D

 

 

 

At any rate, some people i know have said that 85slayer isnt really worth it anymore. I'm getting it reguardless, but just curious what everyone here thinks.

Totally worth it! I got it last night :)

 

And today in my first day at abby demons I've gotten 3 whips so far. Not bad I say, for pretty good training too :D

Have you killed a few by using Wild Pies to get a +5 slayer bonus? That would really let you know if they're worth it.

If you're currently 81 it'd definitely be worth it to just get to 85 obviously, but it takes so much work and time to get 85, and with Whips being rarer and prices dropping fast, it probably wouldn't be worth someone's time right now if they're just starting up on Slayer.

 

 

 

Those hundreds of hours of training Slayer could definitely go to better use :-# .

So far, I have found it to be NOT worth it.

 

 

 

People really overestimate the whip drop rate. I've been hacking away at these guys for 4 days now, and at least 5 hours each day. I've gotten 1 whip out off it. Unless my luck improves I might give up on these guys for a while, they aren't even giving me much in the ways of rune stuff for gods sake. Those rumours about people who reliably get a whip a day are 100% false. I can't beleive I was tricked by all of those people.

Anyway, I'd say go for 85! Your 81, might as well go for that four levels. :D

I'm not one to tell you how to play, but take my word for it when I tell you that that luck is not going to last.

on my guy (timysmith09) it has for sure been worth it... 1 month .. 14 whips 2 half shields over 15k ess.. good place to train to flat 99's too... gl man.. maybe il see u there in a few weeks :P

Yup, its worh it. I have no idea how I would get money for my prayer if not slayer. Even thought its all luck (which I don't have). One day I get 3 whips and then I sit at abyssals for 15 days with no whip...

 

 

 

And no, whip price isn't droping fast. Its quite some time now when they are ~2.5-2.6m.

I'm going to end up working on my slayer pretty soon, attempting to get 85. Whips plox! Some people have lucky and get lots, some don't. It's all RANDOM! I mean same with barrows, it's random. I ran into a guy who got 2 barrow drops in a row! I got one 2 days ago, havn't gotten one since. It's all random. Who knows, with my luck if I get 85 slayer I'd probably get one whip in like a month lol. And whip prices aren't going down much.. They only went down due to the decrease in inflation when POH's came out. They're 2.4-2.7m right now, that's still a pretty good amount of cash.. Hell, if you get around 10-12 of them you can get a d chain! Or keep them and go pking with them :P

i had my doubts too,but i tried wildpieing some,it was soooo much fun,and i even got a whip,2 rune chains and 2 half keys :)

 

i'm definately going for it,gonna try to be like 100cb with 85 slayer,98 with 83 atm,well 12k from 83lbut meh :)

At first it was, I had my first 12 whip drops in maybe 3k Demons, but now I haven't seen one in 7 slayertasks :cry: Somtimes with, usually without, ring of wealth.

With 82 Slayer + Wild pies it is worth it, although when you go 1000 Demons without a whip, it does get annoying.

 

 

 

Get 82-83 slayer then buy 200 wild pies for 2M, and see what you think of them, and if you like them then get 85 slayer.

 

 

 

Or, if you're too lazy then just get loads of wild pies like me =P

 

 

 

But 85 slayer IS worth it, not including abyssal demons I've had: Dragon Shield, Dragon skirt and Dragon legs from slayer, all of which I wouldn't ahve got without it. Aswell as lots of the slayer items along the way and hundreds of clues.

 

 

 

(Although I have had a dragon med and 7 whips off demons =P)

I still manage to get atleast 1 whip everytime i go to abyssals, but not as lucky as my first 3 days there. when i got my first 10 whips, still abyssals is the best way to make money i've ever had, and i doubled my small wealth on them easily.
