Actually, a level 75 isn't high at all. You're just saying it is because you're a level 77

 

 

 

Well, I know that I'm not that high, but I do have a fair understanding about these things.

Ignore it. Little 10 year olds who have a bad day at school and need to take it out on a game.

 

 

 

 

 

Seriously I have found out that most 8-12 years olds ( no offense to those that are) are allowed to play hours uponj hours a day so they get higher lvls faster thus thinking there better then the people who only play an hour to 2 hours a day...

When I played Runescape it was mostly lower levels who were extremely rude towards me. They would follow me asking me for free stuff, I don't reply to such demands, but after not replying for a couple minutes they call me a noob, or worse names and run off? Just because I dont want to talk to someone who wants my items that I earned makes me a noob.

 

 

 

There is also alot of people being rude in the wilderness. They flame you constantly on how you pk, no matter which way you do it. You pk above edgeville, you get flamed for safe eating because you eat at above 30 hp? Personally I like to continue the fight and not be koed, just because they call me a safe eater doesn't mean Im gonna lower my hp level that I eat at. If you are a lurer, you will get flamed, because its one of the most "worst" ways of pking that you can do. If you pray so you don't die you will get flamed, if you run away from someone no matter how outnumbered you are you will get flamed, if you log to save your stuff you will get flamed for being a pixel lover.

 

 

 

Before I quit I tended just to ignore these people, they are just trying to get a reaction out of you, if you don't reply they look stupid and eventually will shut up.

[/rant] Try being in the spotlight......always.......all the time........wherever you walk in, people seem to think since you're high level it gives them the right to :

 

- Call you a no-lifer for no appearant reason other than being high level.

 

- Gives them the right to bug you continuously for free stuff.

 

- Bombard your chat with questions, ask for help/advise: which is perfectly fine, if you accept the fact I'm helping several people in private chat as well, so be patient and I will reply.

 

- Be threatened to be reported (because reporter can't stand high levels)when you tell someone to go to RS-homepage to access the knowledge base, so the person asking the question can get the information him/herself (on several occasions).

 

- Spam trade you to sell awesome cool stuff, without telling what the awesome cool stuff is.

 

- Be called a 'lvl 124' ........I have a game-name: why would I take the effort to respond to someone not taking the effort to type in atleast some part of my game-name ?

 

- Be asked over and over again what my specific levels are when I'm skilling (say smithing).

 

- Be called a high-level snob, when you dont reply within 10 secs of them saying 'mining level': well excuse me, but I have an active friends list and means I'm probably involved in several conversations at the same time and am too busy to reply to the demanded inquiry within 10 secs , Sir !

 

- Be followed around by beggars.

 

- Be 'ordered' to make free armour when smithing (kids can't say please anymore these days ?)

 

- gives them the right to ask/demand for rediculous price cuts on items, since I'm a high level and can easily afford it (yes, I slave my behind off to get to wealth).

 

- Be asked for free whips almost continuously at abbies (when one beggar finally gives in.........the next will show) Ive tried patiently explaining how to make money in the game, to no avail. There are just too many freeloaders it seems.

 

- Be pestered by people continuously closing doors in rooms, hoping a random event will pop-up that will kill me while im wearing my p-hat.....I've practically stopped wearing the hat because of the attention it drew.

 

 

 

Yes, I was a low level myself as well, but I didn't go around bothering others.

 

It adds up to a long list and there's a very nice way to avoid most of it: it's putting public chat to 'friends' or to 'off'. Will I reply to people then ? of course not: I can't see your chat.

 

If that comes across as a high-level snob or me thinking I'm too good to talk to lower level people, so be it. It's far from the truth though. If people approach me in a normal way, they will get a normal reply. Rub me the wrong way and you'll hear about it. Like it says in my forum title: I like minding my own business [/end rant]

 

 

 

P.S. I'm all for an option in-game that you can hide your combat level: I think it could be helpful in stopping the rudeness downward spiral.

I'm no 120 but even at 111 I like to talk to lower levels and help answer their questions and it still confused me that when i start talking back they are amazed and tell me that most people my level wont answer. I just have to remember that we were all that level at some point.

 

I know man, it's weird. I have lower lvls following me around all the time freaking out because I'm the only high lvl who will talk to them. Are people all that mean? :? But what I can't stand is when I try to be nice to a lower lvl and whatever, but then they start begging for free stuff. Sometimes they even call me a noob if I don't give them anything. (I never do)

runescape is full of those people,good thing there are ppl like you :)

Anyone can get to level 126, it's just all about the time, so I don't really see what is wrong with being a lower leveled player.

 

 

 

And a whole lot of money, 98 prayer is not an easy task. :)

 

 

 

And you need time to earn that money. :|

It seems like a lot of people believe that the higher your level, the more mature/older you are. Meaning, a 12-year-old lvl-126 could be making fun of a 30-year-old lvl-3 :lol:

well i have many thoughts on this but my main thing that i say about this is i totaly agree. people have no right now make fun of someone for there lvl or stats or money or whatever. i think one of the biggest things that makes people do that though is actualy not stat related at all. me i dont care about lvl. i care about litercy. i think thats what the real argument is. for example i have a friend at lvl 46 that can type fast can spell and doesn't talk like this "lik wer R U???1!!11 i ned free stuf plz!?" that is why higher lvls pick on lower lvls. i have met some people much higher than me that just cant type. and think about it a minute... what are you doing when you talk to someone? YOUR TYPING ON A COMPUTER! it all comes down to typing skills! for people that cant type they dont seem quite as smart do they? cause kool is easyer to cype than cool they do it! just today i saw this guy that answered everything with "kl" which stands for cool. i mean he was higher than me but how am i supposed to respond to that kind of thing!? so really most people are used to the lower lvls just going for the easy way out. ok for example some guy say 10 lvls higher than you walks up and says "hi dud wats up!? wana do qest wit me?"

 

or another guy 10 lvls lower than you comes up and says "hey i was looking for someone to do a quest with. so would you like to come with me?"

 

which one are you going to go with? and think about that. is it because of age? is it because of lvl? is it because time spend playing? in reality...... no. as weird, sad, pethetic or dumb as it sounds. it all comes down to typing ability. which also now that you think about that if your on rs for 5 years you've probably done some typing right? so you've become good at it. so therefore the higher lvls are considered better than everyone. because they can type

and people like that really just annoy me. so i swore to myself that when i get to a decent lvl that i would never do that! i swore i would be nice, help lower lvl's and always talk to anyone who wants to chat. so the other day i was in a good mood and this girl was asking for chaos runes. (ya maybe she is begging so what?) and i had about 200 in my bank from doing barrows... did i need those runes? no. so i could sell them for some cash.... she actualy needed them! she was going to use them to get her lvls up and so on.... so i got 400 and gave them to her. another thing once when i was like 10 i remember i was just walking around and this guy runs up and trades black legs and body then hits accept. i remember i started going crazy! my heart rate must have doubled. then on second window he declined and says "got your hopes up! = )" well... he did. and on that subject i was training in warriors and looking around i see all these weapons on the ground people dont want. even up to addy 2 handers. and suddenly it just struck me... man! there are people out there would going bouncing off the walls crazy if they got some of this stuff, and here they just laying on the ground and disepearing..... no. so i started grabbing anything better than steel and after getting around 20 or so weapons i went to varrock in a free world and gave them all to random people. that made me real happy. honestly sometimes rich people just kind of annoy me. ok if you have 10 santas and 3 phats and 21 easter eggs do you really need that!? you could sell 1 santa....... 1!!! and you could make hundreds of people overjoyed for the rest of the day! isn't that worth it?
