If you don't have your parents take you (or walk) or call you in sick you'll get in trouble. I don't know what grade your in but if it's high school you'd better get your [wagon] to school. Unless of course you don't mind a suspension...

If the schoolbus never came for me we had to make our own way. Get on another bus, get a lift or walk. It was never an excuse just to skive off.

Boy do I ever NOT miss the days of taking a bus to school...except when I have to put gas in my car, which happens all too frequently these days (the half hour commute to campus is just more than my poor Neon and $6.75 an hour job can keep up with).

 

 

 

Seriously though, through grade school my parents would have murdered me if I'd ever missed school for something as trivial as not catching the bus. There's always another way there, and they expected me to be in class.

That's not exactly true. I go to a normal public high school. I'm a freshman. I'm also taking math classes that the normal student takes in 11th grade. It all depends on what you decide to do in school. If you want to do good and actually start doing good, you will learn. American schools are being stereotyped because of all the idiots who come to school, do nothing, fail, and make our schools look stupid.

May I just ask...how far away is your school from your home?

A half hour bus ride is probably well over ten miles. That's not really a terrible bike ride, but then you arrive all hot and sweaty, and who wants that?

When i moved to the U.S from Estonia, I was amazed at how easy school is here. It would really suck for me if I had to move back for whatever reason, school is so much harder there :ohnoes:

Zonor is right.. I would probably learn more by rolling on the floor at home than going to school.. I'm 2 steps ahead on everything in my computer apps class and I tend to spend more time drawing on the edges of my papers than listening (and I pass classes with B's or better).

That's odd. Courses here aren't obliged, so I skip most of them. I just never feel like getting out of bed at 8 o' clock to attend classes, even though they're interesting.

 

Our grades are determined by exams only, so if you pass them, everything is OK. That's what I'm trying to do now. *back to books*

i had to catch the school bus from our small town to a slightly bigger town. That was about 45km away and took 45mins if we were lucky.. If we missed the bus mum would have to drive us all the way... thats dedication lol..

 

 

 

...all the worth while...expect for some stupid kids on the bus.. lol
