Not-So-Random Randoms?

Ya, I'm just another player questioning about the randomess of random events.

So for the past couple days I've been ranging lessers at Crandor. Every mithril chain, square and rune medium I get, I high alch on the spot. So far everytime today (can't remember past couple days) that I've high alched, I got a random event. Yes every time. Actually right before I typed this up, I got a frog random when I high alched the mith chain I got. Usually I just get an old mysterious man, or mysterious box. I don't mind them... but do I need one everytime I high alch an item while ranging?

Am I just unlucky? or anyone else expierence phenomenons like this? or maybe it was a hidden update!

EDIT: To prove this point even more, just high alched a mithril square. Got a Security Guard random..

EDIT2: Even my teleports out of crandor get randoms. Everytime one of those weird appendage ones, and today an Evil Bob one.

I personally believe (and have no real proof) that the "randomness" of randoms is based on how much you are doing - i.e. the more exp you are getting, the more randoms you get. I got 13 in one morning power wcing, but i haven't gotten a SINGLE ONE in 3 days doing barrows. So... yeah. That's my theory.

According to a theory that was discussed somewhere on the forums when you do repeatedly the same thing over and over again, like killing lessers, and then you change what you were doing, like hi-alch attracts a macro.

I tested this aswell while i was selling chaos to tza-haar and after 50k tokkul worth i hi-alched and also got a random after 2 alchs every time.

can't explain why, your behaviour must be macro-like :D

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either

a fool or a coward.

Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law

is both.

For a wounded man shall say to his assailant:

"If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven."

Such is the Rule of Honor.

I always get the same ones, Mystery Box, and the strange plant. I got probably 10 combined training in the past 2 days.

I never get the cool randoms where I get a useful item, like the drill sergeant, or another where you can get clothing.

Lol macro-like. That's a possibility because I'm usually alone at Crandor so I don't talk much and I usually kill lessers using the same safespot each time.

When woodcutting I get alot of randoms.

But when mining Ive had none today, and I've been mining for about 3hours now. (I'm on the forums too so it's not so slow).

I guess it's all about luck of the game, you seem to be taking everyone else's!

good luck with all the randoms :P

Random events are used to prevent Autoers. So if it looks like your autoing a Random event will pop up. I've seen this guide to getting loads of random events. Personally I got loads of random events when I was cooking (Before cook-x came out)

thats true but most macro programs these days contain an anti random feature can solve all the randoms out there except for erts

Well my question then is, why do I look like I'm macroing? :-k

Random events are always random. You are just unlucky to not being able to train in piece.

The best solution would be getting the drop, then inv is full, you should hi alchemy at bank. In that case you wouldn't be bothered as much. It always works for me.

The only random events that aren't so random is when you cut the trees to get tree spirit in place accessed only by Fairy Ring.
