-Naval Warfare-

Featured Replies

There has been alot of pirate updates lately, and now pirates can be found in all cornrs of runescape. So to put them to some good use, how about making two new minigames having to do with pirates?

First minigame would be Naval Warfare.

In here, two teams, each with their own ship, go into combat with eachother. Players on bothe teams could use many tactics to sink the opponments ship, and win...or atleast defend their own ship so they dont loose.

Player killing would be a major part of this game, and when a player dies, they respawn 20 seconds later. You can either use ranged attacks to kill directly from your ship, or attempt to get on the opponments ship and go into meele combat.

Sinking enemy ships Includes Launching cannons, to damage the enemy ship. It will me a little simpiler though, you simply put in the cannonball and light the fuse with a tinderbox.

Launching fire arrows inorder to attempt to light the opponments ship on fire is also a part of the battle.

-----------------

The second minigame is Naval Invasion.

In this game, one team has a ship, and the other has an island (this would be three new, not too large islands near the three minigame starting points, see later). The team with the ship, must invade the island team, and capture it to win. If the island team lasts a certain amount of time, it wins.

Players on the inveding team can either board boats to head for shore, or stay on the ship to fire cannons inorder to destroy towers, and walls.

The players on the defending teams can use towers to defend the island, or just go into close combat. They can also use barricades, just like in castle wars.

The offensive team also use explosive potions to destroy barricades, and ropes to get over the walls.

To capture the island, someone from the offending team must go into the capture building and stay in there for one minute to capture it.

---------------

There are two different difficulies in the game. Easy and Hard, the difference is that the ships and towers in hard difficulty have more hitpoints, and the ships/islands are bigger aswell.

The easy difficulty start point is in Mos le 'Harmless.

The hard difficulty start point is in the Pirates Cove, near the Lunar Island.

Please feel free to criticize, suppor, and give additional suggestions if you wish.

In an additional note, the carter boats should start going to Relekka too.

huh insteresting idea.

also im thinking maybe if theres a point where u can actully stear a boat you could becuase a pirate and attack ships at sea. which would give a lot more space for players to mess around in. or just sail around. Maybe be able to arm your ship with cannons or something. I could also see ship building as part of constrution if this was possible. However this could effect quests so i suggest some places be inaccessible by player controled ships. then of course if u dont have a ship you could just pay ur way there. or if u had a ship you could just set a course for a place if u didnt want to sail the ship yourself.

sorry if I got off topic with the whole sailing ur own ship thing.

I'm working on starting a web design buisness and a book

construction is carpentry, it was renamed to construction because it was so much more then just carpentry.

if ship building would be released it would just be a part of construction wouldnt it? Dosent really have much to do with the minigame.

Maybe the player with the most experience in the minigame gets to control the ship, but then there would be the problem of how to decide when the games first comes out.

Ya that would be fun. Naval combat makes any game better. One suggestion though. you have to use construction to make the boats. (Yes everyone knows it would be p2p only anyway)

I like those ideas. I think they're really interesting :D I like the idea of the naval invasion. These ideas would make for interesting gameplay, and would be a welcome addition in my eyes.

Yo [garden tool] [garden tool]!

I like all these ideas they sound like fun to me, specially the island invasion one u could control the cannons like CW catapults and stuff. Depending on ur range and firemaking the cannonball would be accurate or inaccurate. Something like that

If at first you dont suceed, then you fail.

I like

Ships can be repaired by swamp paste and ship planks that respwan 5 at a time in the ships hull, along with canon balls.

Its better to be judged by twelve, than to be carried by six.

I love the idea of pirates and stuff. I'd like to see a better pirate area introduced if these updates were ever to be installed. I'd like a proper pirate town. I feel like Brimhaven just doesn't capture the true "pirate town" mood. I'd like to see the pirate equivalent of the Fremennik Province.

you want to see a bunch of empty rum barrels rabib monkeys biting people, and the occasional bar fight? ME TOO!

Its better to be judged by twelve, than to be carried by six.

:D Huzzah for a new pirate town!

It'd be great!

thanks for the support, anyone else?

I love both ideas but . .

The second one is implying 2 different situations, unless theyre very alike, some players will prefer one of them

So i suggest this system :

The game is divided in 2 parts

Part 1 :

Red team attack

Blue team defend

If after 10 minutes the blue defended, they are the winner

If the red captures, they win that part

Part 2 :

Red team defend

Blue team attack

If after 10 minutes the red defended, they are the winner

If the blue captures, they win that part

After both parts:

If one team won both parts, it wins the game

If both teams defended well, its a draw

If both teams capture, the team that was faster wins

What do u think? :-k

(please forgive my poor spelling)

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

well i like ur idea very much but ..would it be very difficult to designate

and if u die u cant lose ur items am i right?

got ma support...but they should have pirate weapons instead of just seeing a bunch of whips and 2hs and whateva
