Dragon_Scyth
i Agree and have heard knowedgible people say AVG is the best FREE Program. "Boredom got me playing, Boredom stops me from playing. It's a vicious cycle."
DukeKenyon
AVG free is in fact the best free antivirus program out there and is better than most pay for use antivirus programs I reject your reality and substite it with my own
AznElliot518
I would highly recommend AVG or AVAST; personally I use AVAST. No specific reason though Good day sir, how may I help you?Id like to access my bank account please.Certainly sir.
Mercifull
AVG free is in fact the best free antivirus program out there and is better than most pay for use antivirus programsThis is your opinion. While AVG Free is quite good and is great as an interim solution for the security of your system you should really use a better form of protection. The pay version of AVG seems to be rated quite higly by those in the antivirus industry so perhaps its worth upgrading to use that, its certainly one of the cheapest. "Best" and "free" when dealing with the security of all your data just dont go together and its not worth the risk imo. weezcake
I've had AVG for the last few years, but I've downloaded antivir recently. I've heard it's better than AVG, but there's a "license expires on.." :? ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. deloriagod
I personally use AVAST. I use it because that's what the rest of my family uses on their computers so if it keeps their machines safe, it's good enough for me.. I've had my computer for about 6 months and with AVAST I've never gotten a virus. I've heard AVG is good too, but never tested it myself.. Cruiser
"Best" and "free" when dealing with the security of all your data just dont go together and its not worth the risk imo. Even if you pay for AV software, your data isn't safe if you get infected. Reactive software isn't going to save you if you're stupid enough to get infected in the first place. :? Common sense supplimented with any AV program (free or payed, depending on your paranoia level) is the best solution. Or you could just switch to *nix or OS X. I use AVG free on all my home systems, never had a problem with it. Then again, I've never been infected either.
Gordo525
AVG is very good,it beats most security packages, especially ones that come with your computer(*cough*Norton*cough*).Also I would personally recommend a few System Scanners such as -Spybot:Search and Destroy -Ad-Aware SE Personal -Windows Defender(use Windows Firewall as well). These are the ones that I personally use,as well as a program called ZoneAlarm, but I think I payed for that I'm not sure :S I know exactly what you mean, its just ruining the whole game for everybody, this is the worst update since noobs. Kinslayer777
I've had AVG for the last few years, but I've downloaded antivir recently. I've heard it's better than AVG, but there's a "license expires on.." :? You simply need to re-register every 14 months. If you havnt registered at all (no important information given away- and fakes accepted), then you have 60 days to install the 14 month key. Its just a way to track how many copies are out there aprox.
Kinslayer777
AVG=AntiVirGuard :?:  If so, i got it :) Nope, AVG Free by Grisoft is much different then AntiVirGaurd. AntiVirGaurd i found a little lighter on the resources (overall) but not nearly as good of a anti-virus program. And it freaking updated at horrible times, even when cpu use was maxed out it occasionally wreaked havoc trying to update. http://www.grisoft.com
J35u5_M4
I think AVG is the best free antivirus, Panda Antivirus sucks, never use that I got this programs: AD-AWARE 6.1 Zone Alarms (A very good firewall that asks for everything) AVG Free Ewido Antispyware (Anti virus too)
Kinslayer777
Jesus Ma, I like your setup, but i had compatibility problems with ewido recently and something unknown so i dumped it though. Well, i like it because it's my setup =p. Panda is alright for just business computer i guess...but i after a month of good work it stripped a bunch of legit software and destroyed it :( Mad mad MAD! J35u5_M4
Panda is not a very good anti virus, better is ewido download it again, is a good anti virus and anti spyware
Kinslayer777
I would not recommend ewido for antivirus, AVG is much better =-) and then Avast after AVG. Ewido is reasonable as a second antispyware after Ad-aware though.
hynes_d
My oppion is AVG is the best Free virus protection software out there. I would also reccoment getting a program like Ad-Aware which is also free. Another anti-spyware program is Windows defender and from all the ones I have had it is the best. It is free for now as it is still in it's beta stages. Hynes D
