Adam007
Not to crush your dreams or anything, but you have no idea how rare it is to get to that level of football. Most kids at once stage or another want a career playing a sport professionally, but eventually just realize that the saying "you can do anything you set your mind to" doesn't really apply to sports, at least not at that level. From an early age you have to have the right genetics, and more importantly practice and train nonstop to even have a chance for college football. Only a tiny percentage of players go on to become NFL players (with a career lifespan of only a few years). I'd continue playing it as long as you enjoy it, but just know that your chances are extremely remote to going to the NFL, or to college football. Again, I don't want to crush any dreams of yours, but just have another plan to your life on equal importance or higher as football is.

Seahawk10490
Most people who go pro have a history of playing football and other athletics. I tihnk youve waited too long, and wont have as much experience. But keep trying, woorkout play hard, JOIN YOUR FOOTBALL TEAM!! As for the guitar, I really have to doubt any chance. Guitar is no longer a rare skill as EVERYONE plays it. Even I can play a little. BUT! remember, trying never hurts. Its better to be judged by twelve, than to be carried by six. Viktorkrum77
Footballs a great sport. The worlds most popular sport. But you'll need to work out your legs to kick around a ball, and footballs are heavy. Or you could go on MTV's Made. :D Me doing staff.

Viktorkrum77
Wait!? Did I misinterpretate? What 'football' are we talking about? And being a pro-guitar player is extremely trite, and most likley won't get you much or any money. You have to have a whole band behind you, and start performing publicly around the age of 16. And you have to stick to it, and hope a music scout spots you. Not a very good chance. Me doing staff.

Probably american football, as it is very much harder to get into the NFL than in any of the European major football leagues (since statistically there are much more soccer players in Europe than there are football players in the USA). Not only is there more competition since there is just one significant league, but american football is also much more physical and like mentioned before if you weren't born with the "god given gifts" in physique, chances are slim you can advance to that level. I'd have to agree about the guitar part. :( I don't want to crush your dreams either, but in this field, you have to be a natural talent. Not 'Backstreet boys talent', I'm talking "mozart" talent here if you want to be succesful around your age of 14-16. I've played the guitar for ages (acoustic and electric) and I can't possibly hope to make a living out of it. But if you put ALL of your effort into it, you could advance... Adam007
Seeing as how quickly and easily you were just convinced not to persue football as your life goal, I don't think you have what it takes to play guitar profesionally either. While it is easier to, you should instead just take it up as a hobby, unless you're exceptionally amazing at it already. I mean if your heart is totally devoted to guitar, go to music school and all that. You're not guaranteed to make much at all, since guitarists aren't exactly rare, and you have to be exceptionally amazing to get a good job in a good band. You keep asking for advice, and I keep just raining on your parade. Here's some advice though. Try to be practical. I'm not telling you to not follow your dreams. Just do a little more research - really think about what you want to go into as a lifetime career. Can you easily get a steady job in whatever field you want? I mean it's easy to invision yourself playing for a famous band, but in reality, things like that don't happen that ordinarily. At a young age being in a band is great, but as you get older and have a family if you choose to, you'll need a sturdy real job. Enjoy your passions now, just keep your education up because unless you get really lucky or are amazing at guitar, that door won't be open for you. Viktorkrum77
In that case, you'd have to workout everday, eat healthy, and for the most part quit Runescape. You need to think alot smaller, not big like 'I want to be the President', 'I want to be an actor'. Think small, things like normal careers that suit you. For example, I want to go into Naval Architecture. I want to design cruise ships, chances are I'll end up designing yachts, until I eventually advance to cruise ships. Get where I'm going? If you want something big, and are stubborn about it, than you have to start small and work your way up. I'd love to own a cruise line company, but most likley I won't. I'd rather put work into something more reasonable until I'm financialy stabble enough to try something a bit harder. And still, you'd have to advance from level 1. Me doing staff. Enjoy your passions now, just keep your education up because unless you get really lucky or are amazing at guitar, that door won't be open for you. Exactly. It sounds mean, but very few people become a "Pro" anything. However, Viktorkrum hit it right on the head. For example, my little brother (around 14) wants to realy become pro (or at least sponsered) for skateboarding. He is "Decent", but no where near anywhere good. I told him to think small. Perhaps start by working at a skate shop, than moving up to actualy making your own shop. If you keep on practicing hard in skateboarding you may get sponsered, but you have a lot to fall back on. Very rarly people just "become" a pro just because they want to. It's always great to set your mind out on a certain goal, but many of these motivational speakers fail to actualy look at some of the odds for certain "careers". Like they've said, find something you are passionate about, that you like, and stick with it. Honestly though at your age I wouldn't worry about it that much. Do what you love to do, and after time you may see a career opportunity come out of it. The best example I have for that is me... to a point. I started doing small stuff screwing around in photoshop a few years ago. Something that was a hobbie for me now is what i'm going to school and studying for, and is what i'm going to be doing for a job and career. At your point in life just worry about doing good in school and having fun. :)

And am most likley going to college for it. Which just made me realize something else, sometimes it's best not to choose something you like and want to do based on other things like the media, etc. Sometimes you just have to wait until you discover a talent you have. And after a while, that may end up being what you do. As someone I knew once said 'Life is what happens while were doing something else'. Like while planning to go into something else, you may discover one of your many talents, and so on. Get my point? Me doing staff.

1_man_army
If your particularly serious about playing football you should practice as much as possible and play competatively ( for school and local side ). However, you should remember that only a timy fraction of young guys with a dream like yourself make it, so get an education as well - just incase. Also if your not particularly blessed with natural footballing ability there is no point in allowing other parts of your life to suffer to chase a lost cause. That being said the brother of a friend of mine did make it, he plays for a Scottish Premier League side and even made it into the Scotland squad for the game against Lithuania earlier today (although he didnt play). So its not completely impossible - if you have the desire and ability. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
Oy_the_Great
At 14 its too late for you. Most pro footballers were already signed up to play in clubs and teams or in special schools much younger than you. Yeah, most good football players were already better than everyone else around them, even much older guys, at age 14. A friend of mine plays in Zulte-Waregem (not the first squad though), a team that plays in the Belgian premier league, and he used to play with The guys that now determine Belgian football, like Vincent Kompany. Whe Komany was 14, he was already mature (physically at least) and he was such a talent that he could practically be in the first team of Anderlecht already. When he was 16 he was in the team. These players aren't just incredibly talented though, they're also devout to their sport, truly living with just the thought of how to become better and what to do with the ball. I know Ronaldinho once said he sleeps with a football in his bed. That, and extraordinary talent and physical ability (you need to be heavy built too) allows you to become good. Bubsa
Technically, I doubt it does smeg all.
