MyPurpleCrayon
I heard it could easily win the "Worst Movie Ever" award. Of course, any movie with Nic Cage could. :P Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
Make7upu101
Saw the last 15 min of the original and it seemed pretty good.
Deeno13
Nic Cage is quite possibly the worst acter. Ever. How he ever made it to where he is today and continues to be there amazes me everyday.
sheepdean
instead of going out and watching the wicker man, go out and buy the original. it is one of the best films. ever. and then set fire to nic cage.... Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. Mercifull
I guess all the people praising it have never seen the original...? dogfever
Firstly to say I haven't watched it, I saw a poster for it and just that was enough to put me off. However, I have had a few freinds report back on it. What I don't understand is how anyone ever believed this would actually be worth watching. How anyone even expects to translate the specific religious, geographical and cultural setting of the original into a modern setting baffles me. Nothing about this movie adds up: Nic Cage, Neil LaBute and 18 (count them) producers. Was it ever going to be good?

Iantiger
I completely agree with Dogfever; classic films should never be turned into glossy hollywood remakes - they just don't work. Fair enough, I might be able to understand the remake of the Italian Job, even though I still hate it - but a rural film like The Wickerman just doesn't work in the modern day in a practically urban setting. I have no intention of going to see it. Christopher Lee > Nicholas Cage ~Ian Retired Tip It Moderator | Zybez Radio DJ - Listen Here
Satenza
Not seen it, agree with Ian. There remaking The Wild Bunch into a gangster movie. They sicken me. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
