mrgregg2
Has anybody heard of them? They are from Finland. They won the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". They also have some other good songs such as "Get Heavy" "Devil is a Loser" "Blood Red Sandman" They Only Come out at Night" and "Wake the Snake". They are in the metal\rock genre of music. I really enjoy there music and listen to it all the time when i play runescape. But have you heard of them??

Nadril
Heh they are a good band, although of course not a very serrious one. Kind of reminds me of a more metal version of KISS :) :P .

My thoughts. Those masks they wear are seriously ridiculous, but their music is cool, not exactly "quality" music, but I like it a lot. ^The most disturbing signature on Tip.it^Last.fm|HELLY KAYLA!|Oh the mehagurtz!|#Siencemakers"they care less about their spelling mistakes then I." - Lionheart"apinagez... let me

Iantiger
Heard them at Eurovision. They were brave for being different and bringing something new and fresh to the contest, but no way did I think they were going to pick up so many votes! We had a little bet going on for the winner, I think I put my money on turkey, and I almost laughed at my mate when he backed Finland. The victory was almost a landslide! Does anyone else think next year that most countries will enter a metal band? :P ~Ian Retired Tip It Moderator | Zybez Radio DJ - Listen Here
dread_rasta
I just hate that band. They were ok before the eurovision but now they've become too commercial. You can see their faces on the cover of every magazine and they even have a deticated soda brand which is a bit over the top in my opinnion. It's not about the music for them anymore. It's about the fame. Of course I happen to live in Finland so I get to see these products of theirs and it really pisses me off. I suggest that they would just stick to the music.. "metal" for the masses I'd say. "safe" to listen Lordi-kind of "hard rock" as they won ah so traditional eurovision song contest, that explains the popularity of lordi within little boys. Lordi is purely a show band IMO. Not much musical talent and suchs. My location says "everyone knows it as a lordi-country..." [Finland] and with that I mean UNFORTUNATELY everyone knows it as a lordi-country. :wall: [Star Wreck][PM me][My gallery][DeviantArt][Cool T-shirts!][iron Sky - Trailer is now out!]
Lageris89
They're just a joke band who make cheap songs that take no talent. Rely on their image.
blushenka
Mhm, heard them, they kick [wagon]. I was so happy when they won at Eurovision Really, it was a great moment for metal. =D> . And for Finland too. Cause there were all these jokes going around that Finland will win Eurovision when hell freezes over, and then Lordi came along and everyone was like " *groan* oh no, not them' and then 'surprise, they won!' So it was great fun. And btw, glam rock ftw. Seriously. Just because it's not 'oh so deep and intellectual' doesn't automatically make it garbage. Does anyone else think next year that most countries will enter a metal band? Definitely. Especially since it's gonna be in Finland. Yay for that. I can just see Tarja Turunen presenting the show. :XD: "Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. It is about invoking a sense of wonder and magnitude that no other genre can depict."
mrgregg2
It seems that most bands from Finalnd just can't produce a bad song. Nearly all Finnish music I listen to is great stuff.
Viktorkrum77
Ever heard of TikTak? They're a great Finnish band. Along with Apulanta. I like Lordi, they're ok, and I love Eurovision (would love to see it in Helsinki this year, but I don't have a $1000) I have two questions. Is Lordi at all a Christian rock band? They're lyrics suggest it. And did they gain their fame from Eurovision? Heard them at Eurovision. They were brave for being different and bringing something new and fresh to the contest, but no way did I think they were going to pick up so many votes! We had a little bet going on for the winner, I think I put my money on turkey, and I almost laughed at my mate when he backed Finland. The victory was almost a landslide! Does anyone else think next year that most countries will enter a metal band? :P ~Ian Nah, they'll make it so it can apeal to all audiences. I think Lordi relied on the younger crowd for the votes. I personally wanted Mihai for Romania to win. And Tina Karol for Ukraine was good too, along with Turkey. Me doing staff.
mrgregg2
I wouldn't call them a Christian Rock band. But if they do consider themselves Christian Rock, it's more than likly "Christian Metal(?)". : Some of their songs sure do suggest it though. And yeah, most of their fame was gained for Eurovision.
