i see the only effiecient option in c wars is icing in ahrims. pros? you can own everything, becuase most c wars goers are lvl 70somes thinking rune is the best armor in the world

your only threat is rangers, which is nothing a bit of prayer and some runes won't help

(and no, i am not intending to make this thread any better, as it is really a rant)

As it includes elements of a rant and a discussion, I thought I best to place it in Gen p2p. If the mods have differing opinions as to where my discussion question and opinion should be placed, it is within their jurisdiction and up to their judgement on where to locate my post.

they should make a spell where you can enchant your arrows.

The arrows then can freeze people.

each arrow enchant uses 20 natures to enchant your stack of arrows. (you enchant up to 1000 at once)

Once enchanted, rune arrows, for example, would say,

"rune arrows e (10)" (e for enchanted)

You can use any bow with these arrows and the arrows give the bow a specail bar. When you click the bar it does a 50% drain, and changes the "rune arrows e (10)" to "rune arrows e (9)".

Health transfering arrows, the "rune arrows e" could be called "rune arrows f" (f for freezing) and the other ones would be called "rune arrows ht" (for health transfering). They could be 75% drain if they are too strong.

This wouldnt only work for rune. You could use any kind of arrow.

Also you could give the arrows only a 99% chance of hitting instead of a 100% chance.

Just an idea.

Get one thing straight please: I absolutely ADORE ranging. IMHO it's the best tactic to kill NPCs. Cheaper than mage, and if you safe spot, you take the least damage. It's just that all combat styles should be well rounded. Melee is simple, halfway decent against NPCs and halfway decent in PVP situations. Mage is expensive, sometimes has low effectiveness against NPCs, bt brilliant and very effective in PVP. Ranged: Ranged is definately the best (again, IMHO) for NPC combat, but the WORST in PVP.

I'm just saying we need new tactics, not more firepower.

PMG you're my hero! Have my babies! :XD:

I agree with you 100%, I mean, look at Tz-TokJad. Most of the time he gets killed with an arrow in his head \' . Best topic arguing rangers' disadvantage(s) I've ever seen. Well done!

Range needs a quick way to deal damage, simple as. Their ability to KO is non existant, the MSB special returned to its old status would solve this ;).

I.E. New Tactics?

Good points :)

mabye their should be a new seed from a monster drop

and you can put it onto a arrow, and when you shoot somone it grows into a vine for 5 - 10 - 15 seconds depending on what seed it is

This last idea really appeals to me... Gives farming a whole new meaning and subset too. I think they could really work this in. Try putting that in the suggestions forum on the main site... I think more rangers would like that.

Hehe, it might annoy some people though.

farming can be an annoying and time consuming skill to train.

I enjoy it though. \'

One Seercull special and the Mage can't ice barrage you anymore.

Are people forgetting about the Crossbow?

You can carry 4 different bolts, meaning you can combine some of them for different tactics.

Now lets look at 4 reasonably-easy-to-get bolts, and see which tactics we can come up with:

Jade (Stuns and knocks opponent back, D Spear spec)

Emerald (Superpoison, which poisons within the first 3 shots, instead of 6 to 8, like DDS)

Red Topaz (Lowers opponents Magic level, Seercull effect)

Ruby (Drains hp from both you and opponent)

The Jade bolts effectivly disable your opponent, so no attacks on you.

Red Topaz disables any mage's casting abilities, as they usually only bring runes for one or 2 of their highest spells.

Emerald superpoisons, which as im told, hits through the immunity of a super-anti poison

And last but not least, Ruby drains 10% hp from you, while draining 20% from your target.

Camp out at the gemrocks in shilo for a day, with a chisel in your pack, and you'll have enough tips.

You only need mithril bolts maximum to put these on, so it's not expensive either.

I am HOPING that Dragon Crossbow comes out (Requiring you to attach the limbs to a magic stock). And it's special attack would be to have whatever your bolt is, DEFINITLY do its enchanted attack (at 100% drain or so).

As for tactics with what is currently available:

The best melee armor slightly hinders your ability to range, the reverse however, is not true. In black dhide you can easily switch to dds if your enemy comes to close.

The same goes for magic, it does not hinder a mage to first MLB spec with a superpoisoned rune arrow, to then switch to his mage gear quickly and start maging when the enemy comes too close.

So for the moment, it looks as if ranging is best to be an addition to another combat type. (and lets face it, most common rc gear is with black dhide :P)

The pking triangle is similar to a game of paper, rock, scissors...how do you beat the system...have a paper and a rock..in other words, hybrid is the way to go.

Yet if someone always uses paper... you lose eventually.

well thats where levels come in...they are the tie breaker.

If you come up to a ranger and your a range/mage hybrid.....you lose or tie..but if you have better levels..then you win ;)
